Video Client allows to view the live streaming video from a single camera or simultaneously from the multiple cameras. Up to 16 cameras can be broadcasted from the video server to iPhohe or iPad. Our customer produces the multicam digital video surveillance systems, which are used in security purposes and for real-time production monitoring. With iPhone and iPad applications, developed by Edgewood Services , it became possible to easily and quickly get access to the cameras and view the live streaming video from a single or multiple cameras.

2. PROJECT OVERVIEW
Our customer produces the multicam digital video surveillance
systems, which are used in security purposes and for real-time
production monitoring. With iPhone and iPad applications, developed
by Edgewood Services, it became possible to easily and quickly get
access to the cameras and view the live streaming video from a single
or multiple cameras.

3. REQUIREMENTS
The task was to develop a Mobile Video Client for iPhone and iPad:
• Port application written in Java (Java ME platform) to Objective C
(iOS platform)
• Implement previous functionality of the program
• Adapt interface under the new opportunities provided by the iOS
• Design application, which is simple to understand for new users and
accustomed to the old ones
• Find and restore the algorithm of the program basing solely on the
source code

4. IMPLEMENTATION
• Developers explored the user interface and functionality of the
mobile video client. We were given the working Java code
• JAVA developer restored the program algorithm with the help of the
source code
• Objective C specialist in collaboration with Java developer wrote
drivers for the low-level processing video stream
• The interface was adapted according to the new opportunities of the
iOS platform
BENEFITS
Functionally, the program remained the same, while the interface and
product usability were improved.
iOS platform gives the user far more advantages and control options,
such as possibility to use touch screen and large display.
