celebrate April fool’s day by playing tricks and
jokes on each other

Children in France stick paper fish to the backs
of as many adults as possible for a joke and
shout out ´Poisson d’avril’ (April fish) when they
find out
5. Why do you celebrate?
• In the pre-Gregorian calendar New Year’s day
used to be celebrated on the first of April.
• When the calendar was changed by the
French king in 1564 , some people still stuck to
the old calendar and people started to play
tricks on them and call them ‘Poisson d’avril’
