1. VISION (Giving Direction)

Having a dream, a view, a vision of a better school

Defining and working towards a better quality of
education for your community

Having a vision which is clear, written down, shared
with and agreed with by all including staff, SMC,
parents

Remember, Gandhi SAW a better future for his
country, he had a VISION
Vision

Vision is …... ?
Something you SEE in
your mind
A dream
A sighting
The future
An imagining
An ideal
A BIG picture

Community with:

A description of that Quality Education

A plan for achieving it

This is a Vision

The answer is only the 4 which are part of the

➢
Values & Ethics
➢
Learning & Assessment Strategies
➢
Continuous Professional Development
➢
Let's work on each one NOW to create your VISION
Meditation!

Everyone close your eyes, relax and listen

Don't think of anything except what I ask you

In your mind, form a picture of your school
environment, TODAY

See the building, empty, nobody in it

See the land it is on

See the yard

See the classrooms and furniture

See the toilets and water

See your resources
Vision-Physical Environment

Now in your mind clean or erase that picture, think
of a blank wall!

Now think about your school 3-5 years in the
FUTURE

What do you WANT it look like?
See the building, empty, nobody in it, no pupils or teachers
See the land it is on
See the yard
See the classrooms and furniture
See the toilets and water
See your resources
Vision-Physical Environment

Now open your eyes, don't speak

In your notebook write a description of your “new
school”
See the building, empty, nobody in it
See the land it is on

See the classrooms and furniture
See the toilets and water
