In 2010 I accepted the position with NSC as a member of the procurement engineering team at McGuire
Nuclear. Since 2010 I have performed the functions as one of the McGuire site procurement engineers.
This position has given me experience in NSC's materials analysis, buying and procurement engineering
functions.
05/31/2006 to 7/31/2014 Technical Director Duke Energy Co.
I provide technical oversight and technical direction for major and minor projects at Duke Energy's Fossil
Stations. I have overall responsibility for the projects overall outcome. I act as the primary contact
between vendor contractors, the plant management and the equipment owners. I ensure that the projects
are being done safely and correctly. I support the contractors to enable timely and quality work and
monitor and control costs. I am responsible for keeping the plant's management updated on the project’s
progress. I am certified as a CWI (Certified Welding Inspector). CWI # 05100061
07/01/2005 to 12/31/2006 Technical Specialist I Duke Power Co.
I was the welding instructor for Duke Energy F/H welding program. I had responsibility for the TTE200
(Welding Program) and the TTE101 (Visual Weld Inspection) training. I was also responsible for
maintaining and updating the Good Practices Welding Manual which is used by the entire F/H
department. I assisted with the R Stamp Administration duties and supported oversight of welding
projects when needed. I also provided support for vendor audits of Welding/NDE programs for the
department. I was certified as a CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) in September 2005.
01/01/98 to 06/31/05 Maintenance Inspector A Duke Power Co.
Performed final and in process inspections in accordance with ASME III, V, VIII and XI piping and
equipment. MY primary responsibility was Welding/NDE inspection in support of nuclear innage and
outage modifications. I performed inspection services for plant maintenance and modifications. I provided
video support for McGuire Nuclear Station. I was also responsible for NDE and welding support of Duke's
Fossil plants.
07/01/96 to 12/31/97 Maintenance Inspector A Duke Power Co.
I performed Welding and NDE inspections for the Steam Generator Replacement Projects at Catawba
and McGuire nuclear station. At McGuire Nuclear I served as the coordinator and lead inspector for the
vendor supplied welding inspection workforce. I was also responsible for inspection services for plant
maintenance and modifications.
2. 08/01/85 to 07/01/96 Maintenance Inspector A Duke Power Co.
I performed final and in-process inspections in accordance with ASME III, V, and XI piping and
equipment. Primary responsibility was volumetric ultrasonic in-service inspection in support of nuclear
outages but also performed inspection services as level II MT, PT, VT, RT & UT inspector. I was also
responsible for NDE support of the Fossil plant Power Piping Inspection Program. PPIP
03/26/82 to 08/01/85 Welding Inspector A Duke Power Co.
Performed final and in process visual inspection of welds in accordance with ASME III, V, and ANSI B.
31.7 and AWS D1.1. I was certified in Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Visual Welding and Leak
Chase inspection at the Catawba nuclear power plant construction site.
02/13/79 to 03/26/82 NDE Inspector A Duke Power Co.
I hired on with Duke Energy’s Nuclear QA Department. I was certified Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant,
Ultrasonic and Leak Chase inspection in accordance with ASNT-TC-1A on repairs and installation of
piping and equipment.
