Brush tool is used for creating strokes
of color with smooth edges and is
ideal for making soft body parts from
scratch.
3. a. Brush
It provides options in setting the
size, hardness and style of the
brush. It also provides brush style
presets that you can choose from
and use in painting.
4. b. Mode
It provides blending mode options that is
used to set how the color painted by the
brush will blend with the current pixels in the
image.
5. c. Opacity
Used to set the opacity of the paint applied by
the brush tool. The brush tool will maintain the
opacity of the paint applied to the area even
though you stroke the brush several times
without releasing the mouse button.
However, paint will accumulate if you stroke the
brush tool and release the mouse button several
times.
6. d. Flow
This option is used to set the intensity of
the brush for every strokes. Until the opacity
level is reached and while you are pressing
the mouse button , the paint will accumulate,
based on the current flow setting for every
brush stroke. The flow option is dependent
on the opacity value.
7. e. Air brush
If this option is enabled, the brush tool will
behave similar to an air brush or spray paint.
It will keep on accumulating paint while you
are pressing the mouse even though you are
not moving the mouse. The paint
accumulated is based on the flow value until
the opacity level is reached.
8. f. Brushes palette toggle button
Clicking this button will show or hide
the brushes palette, which provides
brush style presets and other brush
options.

A bit harsher than brush tool, so you can
make freehand sharp edged lines of color
with it.

It is used to replace the color of a certain
area in an image. Choose a color by
changing the foreground color in the
tool box and click and drag the mouse
over the area you want to change the
color.
11. a. Mode
This determines the Painting Mode.
Your choices are Hue, Color,
Luminosity, and Saturation.
12. Continuous
It replaces all the colors with the foreground color.
Once
It only allows to replace color, that you first click on;
for example, if you start a stroke on a red area the
tool replaces only red pixels.
Background Swatch
It only replaces pixels containing the current
background color.
13. Limits option controls how the color spreads as you
paint.
Discontiguous to replace the sampled color wherever
it occurs under the brush
Contiguous to replace areas that contain the sampled
color and are connected to one another
Find Edges to replace connected areas containing the
sampled color while preserving the sharpness of
shape edges

This tool works like the brush tool
except the information that it paints
with is from the original state of your
image. If you have a bit of a mess
up, providing you are on the same
layer, you can brush out your mistakes
to revert back to how it was originally.

If checked, it will apply a smooth edged
color fill or pattern to the image.

If checked, only nearby areas of the same
color as the clicked pixels will be filled

or a pattern based on the color data of
the activated layer.

Used to make a gradiation of colors. It
creates a blending of the foreground
and background color when you click
and drag it.
27. a. Gradient Picker- used to select preset
gradients and create a gradient color.
b. Gradient types
Linear- gradient color appears in linear
form.
Radial- gradient color appears in circular
form
28. Angle- if you click and drag your mouse
across the screen, the gradient moves from
one side of the line to the other side.
Reflected- the gradient color will create a
reflection color from the point you started
clicking your mouse.
Diamond- start dragging your mouse at the
center to create a diamond shape.
29. c. Mode- choose the color mode depending on
the effect you want to be for your gradient
color.
d. Opacity- use to reduce or increase the effect
of the gradient color.
e. Reverse- use to flip the pattern of the
gradient.
30. f. Dither- use to prevent banding
between color transitions.
g. Transparency- If a portion of a
gradient is transparent, and this box is
not selected, the transparent portion will
be filled with the neighboring color.
