Autism is a reality and way of life for a growing number of American citizens and their families. Amongst the spectrum of those with autism, the majority of those living with autism have a difficult time connecting with those around them. As one DfA student describes it, it's like landing on a stage where you don't know the plot, you don't know you're role and you may not even know what era you are in. DfA's Autism teams are tackling this challenge by first looking to the user to understand their needs, then looking at ways to connect those with autism to the world around them or connect the world to those with autism.
