B Y B A I L E Y S T A C K
 Island of the Blue Dolphins was written by Scott O’Dell.
 The main characters were Karana, Rontu her dog, the chief, her
father and Ramo her brother.
 The book took place along time ago, about 200 years ago.
 My favorite scene is when Karana meets Rontu.
 I think that you guys should read this book because it is a
REALLY good book that teaches you life lessons.

 This book was written by Jerry Spinelli.
 The main character was a kid named Maniac McGee.
 The book took place in modern times in Western Pennsylvania.
 My favorite scenes are when Maniac is playing Baseball.
 I think that someone should read this book because it teaches you how
to work though struggles.

 Number the Stars was written by Lois Lowry.
 The main characters are Annemarie, Ellen, The Rosens, and the
Johansens.
 The story takes place during World War II in Denmark.
 My favorite scene is when Annemarie runs into trouble.
 People should read this book because it teaches you that kids can
take on adult challenges.

 Bud not Buddy was written by Christopher Paul Curtis.
 The main characters are Bud (not Buddy) and Herman E. Calloway.
 This book takes place in Flint, Michigan at the time of the Great
Depression.
 My favorite scene was when he had to eat a weird meal.
 People should read this book, because it was fun to read, and teaches
you about the times of the Great Depression.

6. BU D N O T BU D DY
B Y J O S H K E D A I T I S
 The author of Bud Not Buddy is Christopher Paul Curtis.
 The main characters are Bud, and Herman E. Calloway. The
characters in this story are all adults, except for Bud who is a kid.
 The book took place in 1936.
 My favorite scene was when everyone was trying to nickname Bud
