6. Haiku Haiku is a Japanese form of poetry - usually about nature. It has a certain pattern that does not rhyme. It usually describes something in nature such as flowers, trees, animals, seasons & weather. It paints a picture with words.

8. Painted Poetry Painted writing is a way of placing words on paper to give a visual effect to match the feeling of the writing. The shape expresses what the writing is about. Use strong, colorful language to describe the topic of the poem. Remember to think about your five senses.

10. Cinquain A cinquain poem is an unrhymed poem consisting of five formatted lines. Cinquains do not have titles. However, the first line serves as the announced topic.
11. Cinquain Poem Format Line 1: A one-word line, should be a noun. This is your subject. Line 2: Two adjectives about the subject. Line 3: Three verbs that end in –ing that are about the subject. Line 4: Four words about a feeling of the subject. Line 5: One word synonym about subject.
