roads.
Roads are considered better than railways
when it comes to
# ease in building
# ease in maintenance
Roads can cover more area as they
can be built on slopes & hills,
through forests & across streams.
Road transportation is very
economical, as smaller goods and
people can travel across short
distances.
Door-to-door services , be it loading or
unloading of sold or bought goods is easier
and better only due to roads. This purpose
cannot be served by railways or airways.
Another advantage is its flexible
services – timings and routes are never
fixed. They can be changed acc. to us.
8. This is a major road linking project,
launched by the Government of India
Plans to link Delhi-Kolkata-Chennai-
Mumbai by six-lane Super Highways
Major objective : reduction of time and
distance between the major metropolitans
of India

Highway Authority of India (NHAI)
