 Recruiters love digital resumes. Here’s
why…
 Savvy recruiters and headhunters today
have to search for candidates and the first
place they look is on the Internet.
 They might have a proprietary ATS resume
database their company uses with a
storehouse of resumes going back for years.

 They may have user-licenses for the pay-to-
play resume databases such as Monster or
CareerBuilder or industry specific resume
databases such as Intelligence Careers (for
the Defense industry).
 They may also have access to public resume
databases such as Indeed.com.
 Or – they may simply start with a Google
search.

What process do they use?
 It’s called a Boolean
Search. The search
engines within the
databases or the Internet
Search Engines use the
Boolean search to find key
words, key phrases,
buzzwords, or terminology
as they search for
applicants’ resumes within
the database or indexes.

 As a job seeker – the most important thing
your resume should do for you is to enable
your digital resume to come up in the
results queue as close to the top as possible
– and preferably within the top 5-10 resume
query results.

engineer’ in his resume 4 times

are mentioned within the digital resume.
 The ‘engine’ will also count words hidden within
the document – but not visible to the recruiter in
the text.

 On average: Stage 1 is completed within 1-3 days, Stage 2 within 2
- 5 days, and Stage 3 can take up to a week and a half. These are
average time ranges, but the number of customers in the queue
can push the completion time back a few hours or a day or so. You
can move up to the top of the queue if you wish to pay a extra for
24-hour turnaround (an additional $70.00 each for Stage 1 or 2).
