1. Dave Heath Retires
Dave Heath, most recently working in Intake Field Service
and Sales, officially retired from Evoqua at the end of July.
Dave has been with us for over ten years, and has been a
valuable asset and friend to many during that time. His
unique skill set, and personality will be missed.
Dave Heath came to us in March of 2005 as a Certified
Commercial Diver. He was a graduate of the Divers
Training Academy, Inc. in Fort Pierce Florida, and had run
and operated his own dive company. At the time of hire,
Dave had over 16 years of experience in the diving field
including repairs to, and troubleshooting Traveling Water
Screens at Power Plants up and down the Ohio River, and
elsewhere. He had also worked at river construction
companies, chemical plants, towboat companies, spent fuel pits, water and wastewater
treatment facilities, and contaminated environments. Dave is also a skilled welder, mechanic
and foreman. In addition to his excellent experience, he also lived in Madison IN, where we had
our USFilter Envirex manufacturing facility, and had planned to house our first dive crew here.
All these attributes made him the perfect candidate to hire and assist in setting up our first Dive
Team.
Dave played a major role in assisting with the setup of the first dive crew, and also acted as its
Dive Supervisor. He knew the equipment that was required to get started, was instrumental in
helping to select our divers, and the most practical truck and trailer combination we needed to
acquire for the job. Without his assistance, the plan might never have come to fruition, or at
least would have been delayed quite a while.
As the dive team grew from one crew,
then two six months later, and finally
three plus, Dave also progressed along
with the growth in our organization. He
held the positions of Assistant Intake
Service Manager, Field Service
Technician, Intake Products Field
Service Engineering Manager, and
Intake Technical Field Service Sales.
Dave has performed many startups of
our Traveling Water Screen and Grab
Rake equipment. He has represented
us in this position all over the United
States and globally in many foreign
countries such as: Saudi Arabia, Egypt,
Guatemala, Mexico, Vietnam, Guam,
and others. He has also been requested back to consult with our customers on special
2. requirements. Our customers love and trust Dave, and he has befriended them all, as evidenced
in this photo of the Startup in Guam.
Our plan is to have him back as an independent contractor, as needed, especially on grab rake
projects where his expertise is unrivaled.
I know that we all wish Dave well in his future endeavors and for a Happy Retirement. Dave,
thank you for all your dedication and good work over the years. Good Luck!
Sincerely,
Ken DeCoursey, Technical Service Manager, Intake Products
and
Matt Tyson, Operations Manager, Intake Dive TeamServices
