VALENTINANUZZI
Born and raised in the heart of Milan, Valen-
tina embodies both entrepreneur and artist â
graduating from business school in marketing,
but dedicating her skills and spirit to fashion.
Always with a suitcase in hand, Valentina com-
bined her creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, love
for originality and quality to launch FedoraMi
in 2011.
The purpose was to create an object of desire,
embraced in timeless elegance, but suitable
for every occasion. An accessory unique and
recognisable in a vast world saturated with in-
dustrial serial production. Enter the FedoraMi
bags â all made entirely by hand by Milanese
craftsmen specialising in leather goods manu-
facturing for more than 100 years.
Valentina, during her many trips around the
world, personally selects the materials, from the
softest and sturdiest leather to the most unusual
and surprising textiles for the linings.
Every single article takes more than one month
of handwork: the result is a perfect balance
between functionality, elegance and novelty.
FedoraMi offers the possibility to customise
some models, choosing among a dozen or so
colours and different materials. All the Fedora-
Mi handbags are special articles, unique and
magical.

14. SANGIORGIOFACTORY
The Italian Collection
Italian fashion accessories designer Roberto
Pansa owns and designs for San Giorgio,
opened only a few months after Roberto joined
his father-in-lawâs belt company. Robertoâs belts
and bags range from classic to vintage. He
combines luxurious and unusual fabrics with
great attention to detail and impeccable ïŹnish-
ing. His designs function well with casual or
formal attire.
Intense research and fervid creativity lead to
designs that augment the latest fashion trends.
This in turn leads to collaboration with some of
the most important fashion brands in the world.
In a quarter century, San Giorgio creates more
than 14,000 different belts often with match-
ing bags and accessories.
Roberto ïŹrmly believes that to master the trade,
one must work hands-on with the product, per-
fect ones craftsmanship, and gain an intimate
understanding of materials. As he says, âThis
work gets into your DNA. You live it every day.
It is intuition, creativity, research. To succeed
you must have passion. For me it was like be-
ing struck by lightning!â

21. UNICI
The company started its life in the 1970s near the
small town of Como, an idyllic spot in the lakes
district of Lombardy. This northern region of Italy is
known all over the world for the technique of prin-
ting that most precious of fabrics, silk. At the helm
of the business is the Cattaneo family whose dedi-
cation to their craft earns them the accolade of one
of the best textile print shops in the land. Alessan-
dro, the founderâs son and a member of the team,
eagerly learns the secrets of the trade. Before too
long, he uses this new knowledge to develop im-
proved methods for printing silk, as well as other
materials favoured by the fashion industry. So on
the eve of the new Millennium, Alessandro, who
is a creative fellow at heart, takes the company to
new heights. Unici retools with advanced printing
techniques that allow them to take raw materials
and transform them into real masterpieces of texture
and colour. In 2008, Alessandro creates the luxury
brand UNICI All is ONE, a limited-edition line that
seeks to fuse those things that make him smile; art,
style, technology and beauty. TheItalianCollection
(TIC) and UNICI delight in introducing this capsule
of abundantly sized luscious scarves in the mixed
medium of silk and wool. Abstract design printed in
warm rich colours creates these rare and precious
scarves that will take your breath away!

26. NICOLALUCARINI
Italian fashion designer Nicola Luccarini has
long been the insiderâs choice for haute coutu-
re knitwear. After graduating from the Instituto
di Moda in Florence, his passion for knitwear
and yarns lead Mr Luccarini to open his own
studio, which in a short time becomes a design
reference point for fashion houses from Milan
to London. In 2005, after a series of partner-
ships with haute couture labels, he launches
NICOLA LUCCARINI CASHMERE, a knitwear
range in 100% pure cashmere made by ar-
tisans. âUnderstated Glamourâ expresses his
creative philosophy: original collections with
NICOLA LUCCARINI
sophisticated yarns and techniques,
rich in embroidery and applications,
designed for women who love luxury,
want quality, and who like to stand
out with taste and personality. Each
Nicola Luccarini creation can be
formal or casual - simply depending
on the personal interpretation of the
woman wearing it. Denim or evening
dress is equally enhanced by the al-
lure of this knitwear range, a line of
special haute couture pieces that re-
news its glamour from one season to
the next.

32. A staunch ally and admirer of the active, highly sophisticated woman, Antonio dâAmico has very clear
ideas about the essence of style. His style is precise, and could be described thus; simplicity, balance,
and fresh elegance for every moment of the day. A style whose imprint remains ïŹrmly rooted in a natu-
ral approach that really exempliïŹes the hallmarks of Italian Couture. Born in the southern Italian region,
Puglia, only to relocate to Milan with his family at a very young age, Antonio learned the rudimentary
elements of his motherâs sartorial bent. He watched as she applied her seamstress skills to making splen-
did garments for those who could afford the very best. But, it was in the early years of the 1980s when,
by chance, Antonio met the genius of Italian fashion Gianni Versace who helped him discover his own
talent. Life partners and work companions for almost 15 years, 24 hours a day, Antonio stood by Gian-
niâs side as together they created collections from Haute Couture to ready-to-wear. In a short time, Antonio
assumed the creative direction for Istante (a secondary Versace line for men and women), Versatile (for
the curvaceous woman) Versace Sport (men and women), for accessories made under licence destined
for Japan, and also for designing costumes for theatre. All of these projects remained under Antonioâs
keen eye right up until July 1997 when Gianni Versace was tragically killed. From that point on, Antonio
dâAmico puts his inïŹnite experience and immense talent to work for other Italian and foreign companies
for whom he designs small, but precious collections. From jeans, to tailored suits, skirts, trousers, shoulder
wraps, evening and cocktail dresses. And true to form, his objective remains only one; to make his wo-
men beautiful no matter the occasion. For TheItalianCollection inaugural Look Book, we have the pleasure
of introducing four out of the ten garments created by Antonio for an exhibition in 2009 honouring Gianni
Versace. The capsule embodies the sheathâs evolution, by day or by night, in what is uncompromising
Antonio style. There is the white sheath dress in cadi silk lined in satin. The Charleston-style dress in raso
silk has an intricate ïŹourish of ïŹne rectangular-shaped loose straps, or fringe-like embellishments, each
one decorated with tiny stones and black strass crystals. The captivating harlequin-style dress in black
and white cadi silk is rendered even more splendid by its âbrassiereâ adorned with jet black jais stones.
And ïŹnally, we bring you the black jersey corseted palazzo jumpsuit trimmed in meticulously adorned
white raso silk. Every garment is a laborious work of art, assembled by the âpetite mainâ of skilled seam-
stresses. Behind each creation there is the precision of geometry ensuring aesthetic perfection in balance
and proportion; plus countless hours of research for the right fabrics and ïŹawless craftsmanship. These
pieces unquestionably symbolise pure mastery of âil bello e ben fattoâ -- the beautiful and well-made that
seamlessly fuse creativity, culture and timeless contemporary design.
Enjoy our initial offerings of Antonioâs collection, which are only a prelude to a project nearing comple-
tion. So stay in touch.
