2. PERSONAL SKILLS
Worked with the Lab technical officers at Witwatersrand University for
two years and realised the great work and care required in that office.
Also tutored CIVN 3015 (Structural Analysis) students of the
Witwatersrand.
Design of Reservoir and in terms of sizing the reservoir, connector main,
and water reticulation to Erf yard taps or Stand pipes for Village. Starting
from just Identifying the area to getting the ortho-photo to getting the
population of the area to designing the network path that best minimises
pipe lengths avoiding too many road crossings on the drawing paper to
actually designing this on the Epanet software fixing the pipe class sizes
and break pressure tanks where necessary down to extracting fittings
such as saddles, bends, water meters, flanged adaptors air valves, scour
valves, pressure reducing valves, thrust blocks, Tee-pieces etc. from the
design drawing and finally populating the bill of quantities for tender
purposes. All of these in accordance with the SABS 1200, GCC, Human
Settlement Planning and Design Red Book and other relevant Design
Specifications. Sewer and Stormwater calculations and design using Civil
designer package.
Good Knowledge of Auto-cad for As-built drawings and other things.
Profiency in Excel package.
Good knowledge of Autocad civil 3D and civil suite for water reticulation,
sewer and stormwater design.
Knowledge of 3-D design software.
Little Knowledge of Structural Design software (Prokon and Reinforced
Concrete Design (RCD)).In structural design.
Good knowledge Hydraulic structures
Microsoft Office Proficient including office project.
Design of storm water drainage e.g inlet flows catchpits,
Design of hydraulic structures flow capacities (flumes, stilling basins,
chutes and spillways)
Proven strong character and self-motivated
Speed and accuracy in working.
Speed in understanding.
