Design can be used to influence user behaviour for social benefit. In this presentation I gave at Persuasive 2009 (http://persuasive2009.net ), I describe Design with Intent, a method we're developing to help designers working on behaviour change problems, particularly with the aim of reducing the environmental impacts of product use.
