World-wide travel destinations. * Special Campus Alumni Events - Homecoming festival, Reunion Program, Valentine’s Dance, Tailgate Parties * Alumni Awards Program – Annual black tie gala event to celebrate the accomplishments of outstanding alumni * Regional alumni programs – Alumni Association Clubs host University of Maryland networking events in regions across the United States * Young alumni programs - Programs and activities for alumni within 10 years of graduation
9. Maryland Alumni Association — Scholarships/Student Programs Students are important to the Maryland Alumni Association. They are future alumni! Special programs for students include: * Scholarships * Etiquette Dinner (students learn dining protocol as they enjoy a full- course meal) * Fireside Chats (a chance to hear from accomplished alumni in an informal setting) * Terp Externship Program (an opportunity for students to work alongside an alumnus with similar career interests) * Official Class Ring (students who have earned 75 or more credits are eligible to purchase the official class ring)

The Alumni Association creates opportunities for alumni to help the University - both now and for the future. We encourage every alumnus to become a member of the alumni association as the first step in giving back to the University.
Volunteers are an important part of the Alumni Association.
The Alumni Association staff helps manage volunteers who in turn connect with each other to build the Maryland Family.
The dues based membership does have its privileges.
Alumni programs are created for University of Maryland alumni with a variety of interests and backgrounds.
Overall, the Alumni Association helps build the Terrapin Spirit and encourages alumni to support the University of Maryland.
