corn/SBM-based diet

5. • 216 female turkey poults
– BUT 9 strain
• 60 pens allocated to 5 treatments
– 12 replications/treatment
• Battery pens maintained in temperature
controlled room
– 33-35oC 1st week, then lowered 2oC/week
– Lighting 23 h until day 4, 20 h until day 10,
and 18 h thereafter

– Live weight
– Feed intake
– F/G calculated

7. • At 22-25 days of age
– Poults fasted 16-h
– Excreta collected daily, freeze-dried and
samples homogenized
– P, Ca retention calculated
