Target Audience Profile
The reader of OVATION magazine is a 15-30 year old male. This guy has a cool,
chilled-out personality, but is also tongue-in-cheeky and vibrant. He is
philosophical and intelligent, thus allowing him to be a confident and headstrong
young guy, without any unwanted cockiness, and due to this, he has reached, or is
near the sweetly desired point of self actualisation, displayed by his comfortable
fit into the ABC1 professional bracket. While he is intelligent, he doesn’t like to
flaunt and fling his intellect into the faces of others; he’s gentle with a gracious
touch, and will be willing to make friends with just about anyone.
During his school years, said reader’s balanced moral values allowed him to
perfectly blend his social life along with his education, ensuring paramount grades
while not missing a single house party. Motivation and consistent grades have led
him to a well paid job in Audio Engineering that he loves, and leaves him with a
high disposable income. But behind the calm, collected working man is an avid
party goer; our reader enjoys going to a good party, where good music, some shots
of Patron and a Corona & Camel combo doesn’t go amiss. He is currently single,
but some female love would be nice; it’s just not of ultimate importance. In
addition to partying, he likes to go out to bars with his friends, perhaps go and
watch the football or maybe even just go for a nice drive in his Coupe. An equally
good time is to be had with nothing more than some popcorn, a sofa and a
Tarantino box set.
But of what significance would our reader be if he hadn’t an interest in music? His
music taste is universal and varied; from the Atlantan cheek and charm of Andre
3000’s rap to Bob Dylan’s archetypal folk, or the Californian desert stoner rock
trudge of Queens of the Stone Age to the futuristic influx of Radiohead. Practically
all of the artists he listens to cannot be defined in a single word, or encapsulated
within a single particular genre, and they therefore mould their ways into the
alternative genre.
The reader of OVATION currently does not read any music magazines, as none of
them seem to match the twists and turns of his music tastes, so he spends a lot of
time scouting around Camden Town and Chalk Farm in the search of some clean
cut, new alternative artists. He’d be more than happy to shell out a few quid for a
music magazine to match his tastes.

  • 1. Target Audience Profile The reader of OVATION magazine is a 15-30 year old male. This guy has a cool, chilled-out personality, but is also tongue-in-cheeky and vibrant. He is philosophical and intelligent, thus allowing him to be a confident and headstrong young guy, without any unwanted cockiness, and due to this, he has reached, or is near the sweetly desired point of self actualisation, displayed by his comfortable fit into the ABC1 professional bracket. While he is intelligent, he doesn’t like to flaunt and fling his intellect into the faces of others; he’s gentle with a gracious touch, and will be willing to make friends with just about anyone. During his school years, said reader’s balanced moral values allowed him to perfectly blend his social life along with his education, ensuring paramount grades while not missing a single house party. Motivation and consistent grades have led him to a well paid job in Audio Engineering that he loves, and leaves him with a high disposable income. But behind the calm, collected working man is an avid party goer; our reader enjoys going to a good party, where good music, some shots of Patron and a Corona & Camel combo doesn’t go amiss. He is currently single, but some female love would be nice; it’s just not of ultimate importance. In addition to partying, he likes to go out to bars with his friends, perhaps go and watch the football or maybe even just go for a nice drive in his Coupe. An equally good time is to be had with nothing more than some popcorn, a sofa and a Tarantino box set. But of what significance would our reader be if he hadn’t an interest in music? His music taste is universal and varied; from the Atlantan cheek and charm of Andre 3000’s rap to Bob Dylan’s archetypal folk, or the Californian desert stoner rock trudge of Queens of the Stone Age to the futuristic influx of Radiohead. Practically all of the artists he listens to cannot be defined in a single word, or encapsulated within a single particular genre, and they therefore mould their ways into the alternative genre. The reader of OVATION currently does not read any music magazines, as none of them seem to match the twists and turns of his music tastes, so he spends a lot of time scouting around Camden Town and Chalk Farm in the search of some clean cut, new alternative artists. He’d be more than happy to shell out a few quid for a music magazine to match his tastes.
