Social Media 
 The concept refers to that social network 
structure or form of social interaction that 
involves a set of related individuals from 
affinities , similarities professionally , 
friendship and kinship.
They are classified into : 
 HORIZONTAL NETWORKS : this kind of 
social network was not created to 
accommodate a specific type of user or 
a particular topic. In contrast mode , 
allowing free participation who so desires 
, providing a tool for interaction overall. 
An example of this type of social 
networking are Facebook , Twitter, 
Google + , etc.
 VERTICAL NETWORKS : The term refers to 
those networks targeted to a specific 
audience . That is, they are specialized . 
People flock to them because of a 
common interest . They are divided into :
 PROFESSIONAL : its purpose is focused on 
establishing a link between different 
professionals. Through them you can 
share information about a particular 
specialty , leading labor relations. 
Includes thematic networks like LinkedIn 
or blogs.
 VERTICAL LEISURE : aims to bring together 
users who share leisure activities such as 
sports, music, games. Examples are Wipley 
, Dogster , etc.
 VERTICAL MIXED : this kind of network 
offers a fusion between the two, providing 
the public with a particular place to 
develop professional and personal 
activities. Unience is an example of these 
networks.
Depending on the subject : 
 HUMAN NETWORKS : promote interaction 
between individuals according to their 
tastes , interests, and activities in general. 
Dopplr and Tuenti can be named as 
examples of this kind of social network.
 NETWORKS OF CONTENTS: the focus lies in 
the content of what is published on the 
net. This means that the relationships 
established here depend on the files that 
are accessed by other users . One of the 
most popular social networks contained in 
this classification is Flickr.
Depending on the 
geographical location: 
 Sedentary NETWORKS : refers to those 
networks that are modified according to 
the published contents , relations , events, 
etc. Some examples are Blogger and 
Plurk .
