I am currently based at DEFRA Weybridge which is a government
animal welfare and infectious disease facility.
Employed as a shift electrician until management re-structure when I
took up the post of supervisor until the position had been filled.
During this time, I have allocated ppm`s and reactives, ppm correctives
including assisting with any corrective remedials raised from
correctives from fire risk assessments and ensured compliance,
correctives from asbestos assessments and ensured compliance,
correctives from building assessments and ensured compliance and
ensured all statutory ppm`s have been carried out and actioned, and
where required, requested quotes from contractors to raise business case
proposals if required if it is outside the financial threshold.
I have a small team including one admin to look after 14 buildings.
This position also ensures that my team are compliant in toolbox talks,
all aspects of health and safety including ladder checks, immunisation
checks and day to day issues. Also ensure all plant services and BMS
are working correctly, these include : ahu`s, fcu`s, ups`s, boilers for
LTHW, humidifiers, complex filtration systems, effluent treatment plant
and associated compressed air and steam sterilisation systems, product
sterilisers for vaccine production, generators, wind turbines, solar hot
water systems, passive lighting systems, chilled water systems, fabrics,
steam and condense systems fed by local boiler house pumped at 10 Bar
with PRV`s to reduce pressure for calorifiers. This position also requires
me to attend weekly meetings with building officers from the client side
to inform them of any works that may affect them or their processes and
to seek approval for works to be carried out, and for the client to raise
any concerns or issues or for general information. Left post to start up a

I started with Carillion on the KPMG contract at Salisbury Square near
Blackfriars. Here I was a split shift electrician unti transferring to the
Nomura contract at St Martin Le Grande nears St Pauls. On this site I
carried out all aspects of building maintenance including ppm and
reactives. This included ahu`s, fcu`s, generators, boilers, chillers, pumps,
bms controls, lighting and power systems, emergency lighting testing,
fire sprinkler system testing, ups`s, vav`s, packaged chilled water
systems, and then transferred to the Angel Lane branch where I carried
out the same tasks but had access and usage of state of the art controls
such as the OSS 2000 BMS control system and sophisticated controls of
the SCADA systems, C-MATIC metering systems and SIMMTRONIC
lighting control systems. Also carried out any repairs or modifications
as and when required. On many occasions when the opportunities arose,
I would step-up and carry out the shift leader’s role for that particular
shift which included allocating tasks, carrying out and/or assisting with
tasks and for general advice or help.

I worked at the NIDO Spitalfields site directly for Lorne Stewart.
The site was a new build student accommodation block of 33 floors.
We had a small team of three with one supervisor, one mechanical and
one electrical. These positions we covered were until until the new
management was in position. All aspects of building maintenance was
carried out including ppm`s, statutory and routine, reactives such as
blocked toilets , lamp changes, lock repairs, leaks and basic fabrics, fire
alarm testing, sprinkler testing, generator testing, emergency lighting,
gas fired boilers, CHP plant, domestic lighting and power and BMS
checks on all plant and pressure systems.

About Myself I am a hard working, conscientious and very adaptable person who is able
to work on own initiative and within a team. Always looking for solutions
to any problems encountered and share the knowledge gained from them.
Able to converse with fellow colleagues if I have first hand knowledge or
experience with systems or equipment to keep downtime to a minimum.
Outside of work, I am a family man and enjoy spending time with my
children and granddaughter. I am also a keen angler with interests in both
course and sea and on committee’s with various clubs, including one
where I am chairman and also a bailiff and level 1 angling coach
(CRB checked). For another club, I am the competition secretary.
I also take part in river and lake bankside restorations and repairs either for
the clubs of which I am a member or assisting the Environment Agency.
I enjoy riding motorcycles and driving cars including doing repairs and
restoration projects. I have a full clean driving licence as well.
