2. Welcome back to Scarlet Valley! With Rotation 2 we have an updated style (I’m
still playing around with PowerPoint.)
Last time we met our founder, Micah and watched as he got married to Miss
Marisa Bendett, whom shortly after fell pregnant. What are they up to now?
3. The pair were delighted
to introduce their first
child, a daughter, into
the world. She was
beautiful, with fine
blonde hair and deep
blue eyes like her
mother.
After much debate
between names, Micah
who was hoping for a boy
simply left it up to
Marisa in the end, who
decided the perfect
name for her sweet girl
was Eva, and so, little Eva
Scarlet began her life.
4. The couple made sure
their daughter would
not be neglected
because of their
situation. They knew
she’d have a hard
life, but they tried the
best they could to
prevent that.
She had a cute nursery
ready for her birth, a
neutral yellow colour
, despite protests of
Micah who wanted blue
for a boy.
5. Micah was naturally a fantastic father. He spent as much time as he could
cuddling, feeding, playing with, bathing and talking to his baby girl. He couldn’t
comprehend the love he felt for her, but also a pang of guilt every time she cooed
up at him. “You’ll be okay, little one, I promise you...you’ll be okay,” he
whispered, as she suckled from a bottle of milk.
6. Much to his
dislike, Micah had to
give his daughter back
to her mother, or put
her down in her crib.
When she was napping
or they were
particularly short on
money, he would be
painting. His work was
improving all the
time, but he felt like he
had almost mastered
his talent. His work was
selling for around $300
a piece, but he could
only hope this would
increase.
7. Marisa was a good
mother too. She had
never imagined herself
in any such life...she
didn’t even ever
imagine getting
married, let alone
giving up everything to
settle down with a man
she barely knew! She
held her precious
child, smiling.
However, inside was
not quite as bright. She
still felt like she hardly
knew Micah, they
rarely spoke since Eva
was born. Perhaps she
was just being
paranoid...
8. However, with passing
days, Micah could tell
Marisa was acting
oddly. He stood in
boxers, painting, waiti
ng on her to get out of
the shower, and when
she did, he gave a
simple ‘hello’ glancing
up as she went to her
own easel.
“Hi...” she said dryly, in
her own underwear.
“Is she asleep?”
“Out like a light,” Micah smiled, splashing a little red onto his canvas. When
conversation ceased, he simply blurted, “What’s wrong Marisa?”
There was no response. The two stood in silence and then eventually retired to
bed, acting as if nothing happened.
9. As if the house wasn’t
busy enough with the
new baby, one
morning, when he
went out to water his
money-plants, Micah
heard faint
crying, sounded as if
it was coming from
the trash-can. Raising
an eyebrow, he
rubbed his ears, afraid
he was going crazy.
When it went silent, Micah put it down to it being too early, his ears hadn’t loaded
up yet. However, seconds later the crying got louder than before, and could no
longer be ignored. He rushed to the trashcan, opening it to see a little black fluffy
being, curled up, whimpering. “Oh my gosh...MARISA!” he cried, scooping it out
and running into the house.
10. Unable to find
Marisa, Micah settled
with little Eva who was
stirring in her crib. He
entered her room
singing ‘Hush little
baby’. He picked her
up and brought her
into the kitchen where
the puppy was lying on
the floor.
“Eva, would you like a
puppy?” he
asked, smiling as he
cuddled her .
11. Using the new puppy as
a tool to win Marisa
over and get her out of
her bad mood was a
fantastic idea, and
worked a charm for
Micah.
The little bundle of fur
was named Oden and
became part of the
family almost instantly.
“You’re going to be my daughter’s best pal...and eat all of her boyfriends, okay?”
Micah said, not completely joking. He knew that Eva would be a crucial part of
repopulation, but the thought of anyone with his daughter was an awful one.
12. It wasn’t long until the
house was filled with
excitement and the
smell of fresh baked
birthday cake.
Marisa and Micah were
a little bit said as guests
arrived, fanning over
their little
baby, wishing her a
happy birthday. They
couldn’t believe she was
going to be a toddler so
soon!
Eva was blissfully
unaware, enjoying all of
the attention, but
feeling most content in
her daddy’s arms.
13. Everyone gathered around as
Micah held little Eva in his
arms, towering over the
birthday cake and it’s lit
candles.
Noisemakers were being
spun and horns being blown
as he rocked his daughter
gently.
“Make a wish baby girl,” he
whispered to her, as he always did.
He brought her close and her eyes
lit up at the candle’s flames, then he
simply blew those flames
away, wondering if she
understood...if she wished.
14. Little Eva was cute as a button. A friend had brought her a little green dress as a
present, and it fit her beautifully. She had a little blonde bob and was all smiles
as her daddy held her tight against his chest.
15. Eva was as much of a joy as
ever to have around the house.
She was a well behaved little
child and she would spend
hours playing with
her little blocks, happy to play
alone as her parents were busy.
16. Chores however, ate up most of the adult’s time. Micah would fill holes dug by
intimidating large dogs almost every day...and when he wasn’t doing this he was
pulling weeds, tending his money-garden or painting. He wished there was
more time for his daughter, however, things had to be done, whether he liked it
or not.
17. Things seemed to
break around the
house a lot too.
Marisa would be on
the job almost
immediately when it
did
happen, however it
got tiring when she
was trying to teach
her daughter to
speak and use the
potty and a sudden
explosion of
interruption in the
form of running
water would attack
her.
18. Despite the
stress, Marisa and
Micah were delighted
at their news of once
again, expecting a
child.
“We need a boy, to
carry on our name...”
was the excuse Micah
gave as he hovered
over Marisa, kissing
her. It was cheesy, but
true, they did need a
boy.
Eva’s name would
change one day when
she moved out and
married. Her children
would have their
fathers name too.
19. Micah began to spend the majority of
his time with his little girl, realising
she would not be a baby for much
longer. Her birthday was
approaching, and she would soon be
starting school! The two were as close
as could be, and Micah taught Eva all
she needed to know at her young age.
20. Marisa, however, remained separated from the little family unit that had
developed. She would sit alone, eating at different time from her daughter and
husband. She wasn’t sure if it was the pregnancy hormones or she was always
feeling this way, but she longed to be out, exploring again.
21. Micah hadn’t
realised Marisa
wasn’t so
involved, he was too
sucked in to his little
girls eyes, unable to
resist letting her get
away with every little
thing. However, Eva
was well behaved, so
it was rare she’d have
to use those puppy-
dog eyes of hers.
She was learning to speak, but her favourite word was already ‘Daddy’. She
never cried for Marisa or even asked about her, something her mother was
all to aware of. It was almost as if Eva didn’t know her own mother.
22. Marisa wouldn’t be able to avoid Micah and Eva for much longer though, as she
went into labour one evening, right in the middle of their newly renovated
kitchen. Micah was asleep in another room, so unlike last time, she was forced to
give birth by herself.
23. Much to her surprise, Marisa unexpectedly gave birth to twins. A baby girl
with blonde hair and blue eyes like her sister and a baby boy with brown eyes
and blonde hair, just like his daddy.
She again, named them alone; Alyssa and Otis.
24. The next day, Eva ignored her parent’s
fighting, and celebrated her birthday
alone, still happy however. She kept
her haircut, except it was a little
messier now.
She took to painting, much like her
father, paying no attention to her
parent’s loud voices, arguing about her
younger siblings. It made her sad that
her mother had distracted her daddy
the whole day, but she knew that she’d
be able to play with him when he saw
how good her painting was.
25. That wasn’t the case however.
Eva was sent to her room by an
angry Marisa when she
interrupted the argument.
Sighing, Eva stared around the
minute bedroom, humming to
herself, “Hush little baby don’t
say a word...daddy’s going to buy
you a mocking bird...and if that
mocking bird to sing, daddy’s
going to buy you a diamond
ring,” she began to
sing, resenting her mother a little
more with each word.
26. Resentment was not
the case later on that
evening, at least not
for Eva’s parents. As
when she was tucked
up in bed, the two
were
simply...apologizing.
This had been the
case for a while
now, the only time
the two spent
together was in their
bedroom...but how
long could that last?
27. As he painted how he
would like Scarlet Valley
to one day look, Micah
was blissfully unaware
of what was going on
around him.
He was already a good
father to all three of his
children, and hoped he
would raise them to be
the best he could be.
He had felt the
chemistry drop between
himself and Marisa...but
