“Protect YOUR Brand, Engage YOUR Customers”
Hello, (Note that I am not using a name, this is purposefully done.) Rotary Speaker Request email text
You are receiving this open Speaker Invitation Request specifically because you are one on my fairly local LinkedIn connections.
If you have read my profile, you might be aware that I am currently the VP of the Elmira Rotary Club and one of my jobs is finding interesting guest speakers
for our lunch program. Since I am a big fan of Social Media and my business is based on leveraging Social Media I thought I would try using LinkedIn to find a
few guest speakers.
If you are interested in being a guest speaker, here are a few guidelines to consider.
I am looking for speakers with a topic of informational, educational, motivational or entertainment value that will be of general interest to all club members.
Our Club is always seeking speakers that have an interesting and informing presentation that enhances our mission of philanthropic giving. We welcome
speakers who can further our club awareness of service needs in our community, the national, or international community at-large. Additionally, Rotarians
represent a cross section of vocations that contribute to the health and well being of our community; economically, physically, intellectually, spiritually,
socially and creatively. Presentations should not promote a specific business or its services and presentations should be mostly non-political and non-
sectarian. Directly soliciting purchases or donations is not recommended. You are welcome to stay after the meeting and speak with interested Rotarians and
share more information. Handouts are welcome. We meet every Tuesday, noon to 1:00pm at the Elmira Holiday Inn. You would have 15-20 minutes to speak.
We average about 45 members at each meeting.
Rotary is not a political or religious organization, therefore your topic should appeal to a wide audience and represent the Rotary "four way test" of all we say
and do:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
This email turned out to be a little longer than I anticipated, so if you are still reading this, Thank You. If you are interested in speaking at our Rotary Club,
please reply or fill out the application at http://bit.ly/GSakA7 . And finally, if you have any comments regarding using LinkedIn as venue to obtain guest
speakers, I would love to hear your thoughts.
Yours in Service,
Tom Brown

First of all, Thank you for your interest in speaking at our Rotary Club. I had a lot of positive replies from the LinkedIn community.
To move the process forward, I will need you to fill out the application I just created at http://bit.ly/GSakA7 . Please do this as soon as you can. Of your three
choices, I think I like #2 the best.
After that I will get back to you and attempt to schedule a date for you to speak. Just so you know these are the current available dates.
