The categories are interesting: they include higher ed and a category outside the academy. For example, there is a course about having a career in the theater.Has an app for Ipad and Iphone. And and app for reading books. When you download something from iTunes it is saved to the area called Library.Major university content: free lectures, virtual tours, video, and audio. Fifteen Minute History from U Austin looked very interesting. Begin by going to the iTunes store, the Itunes U tab is over on the top right. They items are listed under Courses or Collections.
Itunes U organizes content in several ways. Scrolling down the page, I saw a category called Featured Providers. One was the Library of Congress. Scrolling through those, I found this video series for a veterans’ history project.
People may know about Khan’s lessons for Math, Science, and Civics., but Smarthistory is quite an acquisition. Two historians discuss it in this less than call it “iconic” –Warhol painted it after her death.
