2. genre music video analysis
1.
2. The genre of the music video is Indie Rock because
every member of the group are using some form of
instrument and as both songs are fast paced the
movement of people in the videos are fast pace
(the construction of the town in Ruby and fast
pace of how the masked kids are moving in Never
Miss a Beat).
3. For the video Ruby it’s song about building up a relationship
and realsing whether it’ll work or not and the construction of
the town helps to represent that. With kids being reckless in
Never Miss a beat shows that the meaning is for youth of
today not getting a good enough education and the raised
awareness of it.
It fits within the genre because some Indie Rock videos try to
convey some form of a message.
4. For both music video’s they are wearing everyday
normal average because this helps represent they
are normal everyday people who have had
different and they want to bring there experiences
in the simplest way possible. (For Ruby it’s a way of
expressing how they feel about who they love and
for Never Miss a Beat it’s a way of expressing what
kids can be like in bad neighbourhood).
5. The props used in both the music videos are
instruments which helps indicate to the audience
that they don’t just sing in there music videos they
also play instruments to show how talented a
musician they are and they fit the genre because
most indie rock bands are seen playing instruments
6. In Ruby the facial is expression is showing slight sadness
because of the confusion whether the girl he’s with is right for
him going to his knees shows weakness to see whether she’s
fooling around with him. In Never Miss a Beat the guys show
aggressiveness to what kids are when they’re out on the
street doing no good. Different audiences would think I
understand what they’re trying to say and point the there
getting across has some form of meaning.
7. It’s Important to feature the artists in this type of
music video because there trying to show the song
from there point. What this adds to the
performance in both music videos is that it shows
who has the ability to sing, what else the musicians
do whilst singing i.e. dancing, playing instruments
8. For Ruby the narrative could be told in the most in direct way
possible as the construction the city is like building up a
relationship and the darkness pauses construction see
whether it’s working out or not with the guys taking part in the
narrative. With Never Miss a Beat there isn’t a narrative
because it just shows what kids are like whilst there out on the
street and there’s a message within there somewhere by
showing what kids are like on the street and the mischief they
get up to
9. I’ve learnt that I can make a story from
the song I choose to do my music video
from and I can do this in the indirect way
possible and that everything has to be
natural in the location I film at.
