Photorealism:
Photorealism is the art of
conveying objects, scenes and
characters as real as possible
by taking photo’s and texturing
them to how they really look.
There is an argument between
developers whether
photorealism is needed to
advance the game industry.
It is mainly used in FPS Games
to show great detail and to
make the game seem as
realistic as possible. Photo real
Games take longer to create as
every object is created with
polys and pixels and usually
take more disk space too.

Cell shading is a type of
rendering that makes 3D
Objects or scenes look
Hand drawn. Its mainly
used to mimic Comics or
Cartoons. Games created
by this have somewhat of
a simplistic feel to them.

Abstraction is the simplest
form yet, less is more
basically. Tetris is Probably
the most well known Game
that uses abstraction.

Exaggeration is used in Most
Anime or Manga games. Its
designed to be over the top and
not pixel perfect Realism. It gives
the game a more fun feel.
