The Handcrafter Color Collection Launch, Oct. 2013

YOLO Colorhouse is an artist-founded, woman-owned paint company located in Portland, OR. We create
zero VOC, low odor interior paints that are safer for your home and better for our planet.
In October 2013, we released our newest color palette, The Handcrafter Color Collection. This is a big
deal, since new palette releases only come around once every 4 years! Led by a 2-person social media
team (Puji and Kim), this color launch spanned an entire month on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and our Blog.

The Handcrafter Color Collection, 36 harmonious hues, is inspired by the spirit of makers and their craft.
Designed with a richness and complexity you can feel, these contemporary hues embody the energy of the
makers’ materials in the color families of BISQUE, BEESWAX, GLASS, WOOL, METAL, and WOOD.

Collaboration was integral to the success of this campaign. In order to expand our social reach, we tapped
like-minded companies whose products matched each of the crafts in our Handcrafter palette. We were
able to secure an all-star lineup with the following collaborators: Heath Ceramics, Bee Local Honey, Esque
Studio, Tufenkian Carpets, Rejuvenation, and The Joinery.

WIN A HANDCRAFTER KITCHEN
Each collaborating partner contributed one item to our Handcrafter Kitchen prize - the grand finale of our
campaign! We used Shortstack as the interface on our Facebook page to fan-gate and manage the entries,
with one lucky winner chosen at the end of the promotion.
In addition, we kicked off the campaign with a sponsored blog post on The Kitchn, with links to the contest
landing page. Designed to inspire, daily posts of in-house generated visual content coupled with collabora-
tion from our social media partners help tell the larger story of the Handcrafter Color Collection.

We saw a marked increase in Shares, Likes, Comments, Repins, Page Views, Open rates and Follows across
all social platforms YOY.
But more importantly, our collaboration brought to life the SPIRIT of the Handcrafter Color Collection for tens
of thousands of people through social media - much more than what we could do on our own. Our colors
were no longer just something you would SEE when painted on your walls, but their inspiration was something
you could FEEL.
