The proposal outlines benefits of the partnership for both organizations, including opportunities for community outreach, education, and promotion of UC Health services. It recommends expanding existing CourtJesters programs and including visits to UC Health hospitals. Dear Mr. Peter Iacobell,
We want to make you aware of an ideal sponsorship opportunity with the
CourtJesters comedy basketball club. The CourtJesters are coming to West Chester for
a day or two and playing a basketball game at Lakota West high school during one of
the evenings they are in town.
There are many benefits associated with this opportunity from the CourtJesters.
First and foremost, it is a great opportunity to spread awareness of the opportunities UC
Health offers to the West Chester community. In order to spread awareness of all these
opportunities, you will need time and space to do so. By partnering with the
CourtJesters, it will allow you to provide educational services, such as child car seat
safety, safe sitter program, and a safety fair. On top of that, the CourtJesters will also
perform their “alcohol edu” program at Lakota West High School before the game. It is
very important to educate high school kids on the dangers associated with alcohol and
drug abuse. Also, since many teens look up to professional athletes, it might mean
more coming from them.
By spreading awareness about UC Health and providing these educational
services, it will inspire youth and adults from the West Chester community to volunteer
with different branches of the UC Health system.
Lastly, this sponsorship with the CourtJesters will gain leverage within the West
Chester community for upcoming tax levies and fundraising efforts that will benefit the
entire UC Health System, more specifically the West Chester Hospital. This will provide
additional funding for UC Health and its associated branches for improved programs,
additional “top-in-their-field” doctors, the newest technological equipment, amongst
other things.
3. We will be in contact within the next week to further discuss this sponsorship
opportunity. If you have any comments or questions regarding this opportunity, feel free
to contact us at generalcusterconsulting@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
General Custer Consulting Group
4. Draft Proposal
Dear Mr. Peter Iacobell,
Formed in the late 1990’s by Andrew Eckman, the CourtJesters are a comedy
basketball club that is modeled after the world-renowned Harlem Globetrotters and
other organizations of the like. As a popular touring group, the Court Jesters provide an
outlet for numerous local and regional businesses, organizations, or causes to sponsor
their games and events. The Court Jesters can be used for a wide variety of purposes
from fundraising, to private events for companies, to community outreach events. Due
to their flexibility and diverse portfolio, the Court Jesters are an excellent resource for
reaching out to the community and regions.
The CourtJesters comedy basketball club is committed to the health and well
being of youth and adults. We have chosen to deliver a proposal for a sponsorship to
UC Health on behalf of the CourtJesters because of how well the commitments of both
entities to the health of the community align. As a member of UC Health, the West
Chester Hospital believes in the commitments of serving their community with
excellence and compassion, while also providing the best health care to all that enter
the hospital. Their vision is to be the community’s quality healthcare partner and a
regional leader in solving complex medical problems. As part of UC Health, we will also
look to partner with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital since we are planning on getting an
audience of all types involved, especially those families in the area. This sponsorship
would allow for the opportunity of health promotion and education at the CourtJesters
basketball event taking place at Lakota West High School.
As an active sponsor of the event, the CourtJesters are offering the following list of
assets and benefits to the UC Health System that will further nurture the relationship
between the two entities:
Assets:
● UC Health logo on the official basketball in the CourtJesters game.
● A UC Health logo on a CourtJesters keychain that will be given to every person
who is in attendance.
● The UC Health logo featured on the jerseys worn by the CourtJesters and on the
t-shirts sold at the event.
● The UC Health logo will be placed throughout the programs for sale at the event
and will feature various pages throughout that expose their various programs and
benefits.
5. ● The President and CEO of West Chester Hospital, Kevin Joseph, will be able to
do the tip-off for the start of the game.
● UC Health and its associated branches will be featured on the billboards, signs,
and marquee leading up to the event.
● Courtside tickets for the Board of Directors of the West Chester Hospital and/or
UC Health and Cincinnati Children’s.
● Potential for UC Health logo on the courtside chairs that the team and
distinguished guests will be sitting in.
● UC Health logo can be placed on/near the scoreboards, potential for ads to be
played on the video board.
Benefits:
● An opportunity to spread awareness of the services UC Health offers to the West
Chester Community.
● Time and space to sponsor educational services: child car seat safety, safe sitter
program, and a safety fair.
● Generate interest and excitement in the community for the services that are
provided outside of the brick and mortar building that the hospital is generally
known for.
● Inspire the youth and adults in the community to volunteer with any of the
branches of the UC Health System by showcasing the benefits and opportunities
come from such work.
● Gain leverage within the community for upcoming tax levies or fundraising efforts
that will benefit the entire UC Health System, and particularly the West Chester
Hospital due to its proximity to the event.
The CourtJesters basketball game will provide an excellent opportunity for the
hospital to gain awareness from the local community on certain issues including safety
and general health. First, we will bring Cincinnati Children’s Hospital services to our
event. Cincinnati Children’s does their own safety fairs and so the CourtJesters will
incorporate this with their event. The Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center
Safety Fair is a free program provided to elementary schools within the Greater
Cincinnati area. The Safety Fair is designed to educate young children, kindergarten
through third grade, in a fun, yet effective atmosphere. Next, they offer a safe sitter
program, a medically oriented instructional series that teaches youngsters how to
handle emergencies when caring for younger children. The goal is to prepare
adolescents for babysitting and reduce the number of accidental and preventable
deaths among children being cared for by babysitters. Lastly, Cincinnati Children’s
offers a child car seat safety service for the community; this would give community
members an opportunity to get a free car seat safety inspection.
6. Next, we will bring CourtJester players to West Chester Hospital to visit with
patients. This activity is designed to help boost the morale of the patients in the hospital
who are dealing with difficult situations on an everyday basis. This would be a good
trade off for both organizations because both would benefit. The CourtJesters will
receive positive press by giving back to the community and the patients at the hospital
will be able to escape reality by being entertained by members of the CourtJesters,
which is ultimately a positive for the hospital.
Lastly, during the day of CourtJesters event, we will have the CourtJesters
perform their “alcohol edu” at the high school. This is a program that stresses the
dangers and awareness of alcohol and drug abuse, particularly in adolescents. By
having professional basketball players come into the school and present this information
in a different light from what the students are used to, the impact it can potentially have
is invaluable. During this time, the CourtJesters will also have an opportunity to build
excitement for the game that night and encourage the students, that they just created
bonds with, to bring their family or friends to the game.
As a medical leader in the tri-state region and not just Butler County, the UC
Health system can use the potential sponsorship of the Court Jesters to promote their
business, mission, and services in future events at different points within their target
market. The opportunities for an event in northern Kentucky or southeastern Indiana are
endless and the model outlined by this proposal could easily be transferred to those
events.
The total sponsorship package has not yet been fully determined, although there
are possible packages listed in the appendix of the proposal. This proposal is merely a
starting point that I hope will blossom into a fruitful partnership for many years to come.
If you have any other concerns or questions, please feel free to contact us at
generalcusterconsulting@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
General Custer Consulting Group

RE: Sponsorship Opportunity - University of Cincinnati Health System, West Chester
Hospital
Dear Mr. Andrew Eckman,
On the CourtJesters behalf, we have reached out to a number of various local
and regional businesses or organizations to inquire about potential sponsorships for
your event in Butler County. One of the strongest suitors happens to be the West
Chester Hospital, which is part of the larger University of Cincinnati Health System that
includes Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Through the hospitals various outreach
programs, we feel that it is a very strong candidate for a sponsor should both parties
choose to follow through. The larger UC Health System has a reach far beyond Butler
County and can provide resources that very few other organizations can. This initial
document is merely a draft and can most certainly be altered to meet the needs of both
the CourtJesters and the West Chester hospital and, by extension, the UC Health
System.
In order to be more appealing to the hospital, we recommend that the
CourtJesters expand their drug and alcohol awareness program to include the
community as a whole, rather than restricting it to the local schools. We are not asking
that you eliminate the school presentation, as that is certainly a strong and powerful
aspect of the CourtJesters’ community outreach, rather spending time at the hospital or
putting on a health fair for the community prior to the game at Lakota West High School.
Coinciding with this, it would be beneficial if the players of the CourtJesters were able to
make appearances at the UC Health System hospitals, specifically the West Chester
hospital and Cincinnati Children’s.
10. By connecting with the UC Health System, the CourtJesters are opening up the
possibility to be sponsored for other events throughout the tri-state area and that must
not be taken lightly. By gaining potential exposure to new eyes and markets, the
CourtJesters should strongly consider the advantages of partaking in a partnership with
an organization that has this much influence in the region in various industry sectors.
To make the sponsorship a reality, it would be beneficial to set up a meeting
between the CourtJesters management team and representatives from the UC Health
System. The contact information for those individuals involved with the UC Health
System has been provided in the brief above. At this meeting, it would be in the best
interest to understand what the Health System wants to gain as a primary sponsor of
the CourtJesters and how your organization can cater to those needs. Additionally, this
meeting is where details can begin to be brought into focus and addressed. These
details can range from cost of a certain package to what logo will be used, etc. This will
only be the first of many meetings, hopefully, so do not feel rushed to come to a
conclusion about every small aspect.
As we hope, and I assume you do as well, this sponsorship is not a one time
deal, it is best to stay in contact with the Health System and monitor their expectations,
needs, wants, etc. as time passes. Just as your organization experiences changes,
theirs does the same and it is essential to not let this opportunity go to waste. Following
the event, we suggest that you receive feedback from the Health System as to what
they enjoyed, what they disliked, how you can improve for future events, and things of
that sort. They should be able to relay information regarding how their programs were
helped by your participation, how many people became aware of certain aspects of their
services through the CourtJesters actions, and the extent to which they benefited as a
whole by being involved with a fantastic organization such as yours.
We wish you the best moving forward and hope to be hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
General Custer Consulting Group
