2. The Pet Role Trust seeks to promote Responsible Pet
Ownership via a number of routes including Charitable
Fundraising. Kevin's work as nationally acclaimed both
national and local charitable fundraiser naturally comple-
ments that of The Pet Role Trust as he uses his talents as
a Pet Consultant to seek to promote public awareness of
responsible pet ownership and maintain the organisation's
place at the forefront of animal welfare issues. He has
extensive experience in Event Management as both an
organiser and as a compere for high profile charitable
media events like The Golden Bone Awards – the canine
equivalent of the Oscars.
In the past couple of years Kevin has been in receipt of
two National Awards for his philanthropic work. In 2011
he was awarded Lancashire Community Philanthropist
of the Year. In 2014 Kevin received a Lifetime Legends
of Industry Award from the Variety Club of Great Britain
as reward for holding a number of events at both 10 and
11 Downing Street for both the former Prime Minister,
David Cameron and his wife Samantha and the former
Chancellor, George Osborne organising a number of
Special Children’s Christmas Parties for Disabled Children
at Number 10 including one hosted by Ant and Dec.
During his period in office as Mayor of Clitheroe in 2014
Kevin launched the Clitheroe Community Fund to raise
money for good causes.

Kevin Horkin is a TV pet consultant and presenter
who has appeared on a number of animal themed TV
programmes. He has also co-presented two series of
programmes for Granada TV called The Pet Set and
Animal Tales. He has been involved in the publishing
of a number of books including two for charity: 'Star
Dogs: What do Celebrities Think about their Pets' and
'Pets and Personalities on Coronation Street'. Kevin is
also Media Director of Our Dogs – one of the oldest
canine publications in the world – a position he has
held since 2000. Kevin established Pet Role in 1985 in
an effort to promote responsible pet ownership in the
UK through broadcast and the written media. Through
Pet Role he was subsequently called upon to supply
and cast a range of animals in roles for TV Programmes
& Film, including: including: Albion Market, Allsorts, Bill
Oddies ‘Time for a Story,’ Children’s Ward, Blue Peter,
Nickelodeon, The Sooty and Sweep Show, Stars in their
Eyes, You’ve Been Framed, Watching, Kate Robbins
Show, Flight Terminal, Emmerdale, Families, Bullman,
First Among Equals, Sherlock Holmes, Return of
Sherlock Holmes, In Suspicious Circumstances, G.B.H.,
Prime Suspect, Cat Walk, Dogs, This Morning, Big
Breakfast and Coronation Street. As an actor Kevin has
appeared in a number of TV Dramas himself including
the Comedy Drama Catwalk Dogs which aired in 2007.
