12. Invisible Zipper http://www.sewedu.com 12 High-end designer pillows are sewn with invisible zippers. The invisible zipper is hidden in the seam which creates a beautifully finished pillow. Supplies Tools Fabric for pillow Sewing machine Pillow form Zipper foot Invisible zipper Scissors Thread Pins Decorative cording

13. Pre-Assemble the Pillow Cut front & back of pillow the same size Add welt cord or decorative cording on front side of pillow fabric 13 http://www.sewedu.com

14. Zipper length-minimum 2” shorter than pillow, preferably as long or longer than pillow bottom Open zipper full length 14 http://www.sewedu.com

15. Sew In the Zipper Place zipper teeth next to the decorative welt cord (zipper tape should line up with selvage edge of pillow). Stitch zipper tape to fabric with basting stitch. 15 http://www.sewedu.com

16. Roll teeth flat (open) and stitch in the ditch as close as possible to zipper teeth without stitching the teeth. Start and stop stitching about 2” from each end of the pillow. 16 http://www.sewedu.com

18. Zip the zipper closed, this will help you match the side edges of the pillow. With right sides together pin zipper in place at the bottom of the pillow back, matching outside edges of the pillow. 18 http://www.sewedu.com

19. Open zipper at this time. Baste the zipper in place with the tape of zipper on the bottom edge of the fabric. 19 http://www.sewedu.com

20. Return to the beginning of the zipper and fold the teeth open and stitch in the ditch as close as possible without catching the teeth in your stitching. 20 http://www.sewedu.com

21. Now you are ready to close the pillow at the zipper ends. 21 http://www.sewedu.com

22. Begin stitching the pillow at one end of the zipper and continue around to the other end. 22 http://www.sewedu.com
