I like author, Nora Robert's writing, but "The Witness" was my favorite and
everybody will have their own ..I find that her stand alone stories are better, but
this novel dragged just little bit for me...This story is a very slow build of
suspense, intriguing, romantic/mystery, with alot of twists and turns and a
shocking ending.. I don't think everybody will be able to guess...Ultimately, the
underlying theme, is about friendship, trust and love.....
She's already a "Bestseller", so I don't think I have to critique, this author's
dialogue and characterization in my review..If you are a big fan of Nora Roberts,

stories since I was 18 yrs old and it's not going to change....
Prominent Lawyer, Eli Landon, has been accused of murdering his wife right in
the middle of a divorce, and still remains a suspect..Eli is now a broken, innocent
man...Still pressured by the Detective on the case, he seeks refuge at the Bluff
House, where he meets the very unconventional, attractive, Abra Walsh...A "Jill
of all Trades", and maybe a "Master of One"....On "Whiskey Beach", she will try
to help Eli recover all aspects of his destroyed life, regain his reputation and fall
in love....
Together they will set out to find who's behind the setting up of his wife's
death....Is the key to the puzzle the legend of pirates and a long lost, buried
treasure, that's associated with "Whiskey Beach" and Bluff House, which has
been in their families' generation forever...Was Eli's grandmother, Hester's fall an
accident.....Will they find who this dangerous killer is in time as more deaths
occur, maybe even Eli's or Abra's.........
This novel was a good read, very emotional and I needed a change, from all the
horror books... So, for me it was a nice ocean, side break, where I could hear
the waves crashing against the rocks below, with an air of mystery and romance,
just a great vacation.... Nora Robert's will never fail to disappoint or entertain
me ever....

I don't know how she does it! Nora Roberts is truly a phenomenon. I have been
a longtime fan, and some of her earlier stand-alone mysteries (non-trilogies or
family series) were not as intricate as far as figuring out "who dun it". Her more
recent ones, including this one, are multifaceted and challenging puzzles. As
usual, she also creates a world I would love to live in and a family I would like to
be part of. Keep them coming!
I love Nora Robert's books. This one was well written and carried me to another
place where I could experience Whiskey Beach. It had just the right amount of
suspense and romance . I highly recommend it.
