1. Kathy Thibodeaux This biography is about Kathy Thibodeaux, founder of America’s first Christian ballet company. She first began dancing at an early age, and in 1979 became a Christian. In 1982, she went on to win a silver medal in the USA International Ballet Competition. http://www.mswritersandmusicians.com/actors/index.html#T In 1986, she alongside husband, Keith Thibodeaux, formed Ballet Magnificat!, a ballet company emphasizing the gospel of Jesus Christ. http://media3.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/photo/gallery/100520/GAL-10May20-4621/media/PHO-10May20-225784.jpg This sounds pretty simple: a really good ballerina becomes saved then forms some world-famous Christian ballet company, but in reality, it has been a complex journey of twists and turns. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/05/21/AR2010052101658.html See also for a message concerning the heart of Ballet Magnificat! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnJbRiM4xuA
2. KathyThibodeaux~ pg. 2 As one who challenged traditional ballet minds to conceive of a way to successfully integrate “Christianity” with an already respected art form, there were many voices of doubt. Her belief in what she felt was possible, alongside those who also shared the same commitment of faith in Jesus Christ has carried the vision to what everyone has access to enjoy today. The Ballet Magnificat! ministry encompasses schools, two ballet companies that tour, summer workshops for students, teachers, and even worship dancers. A desire to dance has developed into a desire to share the love to dance for the Lord’s glory and to equip others to do the same. http://www.balletmagnificat.com/A_newfirst.html Krausslach IMD121 wk2a2 AiO
