Luck runs the spectrum
– “…from very good luck to very bad luck.” – Edward de Bono
Luck is when talent and opportunity combine.
– “The meeting of preparation with opportunity generates the offspring we
call luck.“ – Tony Robbins
– “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” – Seneca
– “Ability is of little account without opportunity.“ – Lucille Ball
Luck can be made
– I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of
it.“ – Thomas Jefferson
– “Good luck is another name for tenacity of purpose.“ – Ralph Waldo
Emerson
Your competitors can be lucky too
– “I believe in luck: how else can you explain the success of those you

5. Who is Peter Asher?
In 1964, Peter’s song, World Without Love, reached #1 on the
charts (US & UK.)
Arriving in the US with the British invasion, women screamed
and tried to rip off his clothes.
One of the Lucky Ones, Peter was 20 years old.

7. What caused Peter Luck?
Jane Asher, Peter’s sister, was also Paul McCartney’s girlfriend.
Peter was a second degree connection to Paul.
“World Without Love,” written by Paul was gifted to Peter to
record. It was Peter’s band’s only #1 hit.
(After putting his clothes back on,) Peter joined the Beatles
record company, becoming a talent scout and producer and has
enjoyed an exceptionally successful career ever since.

9. The Lucky Ones
Steve Wozniak considers himself lucky to have met Steve Jobs.
Had Lorenzo de Medici, the reigning power of the Renaissance ,
not met Michelangelo when he was a young boy and offered to
become his benefactor, the Sistine Chapel would not be painted.
Without Peter Asher meeting Paul McCartney, would there have
been a British Invasion?

10. Lessons Learned
Some people just step in it.
For those of us who don’t, there is LinkedIn.
Luck cannot substitute for talent or replace hard work.
