Definition: Shallow Depth of Field
(SDF) is used to focus on a certain
subject, while blurring out everything
Settings:
Wide Lens Opening
Wide Aperture
5. DEEP DEPTH OF FIELD
Definition: Deep Depth of Field (DOF)
is the distance in front of and beyond
the subject that appears to be in
focus.
Settings:
Small F-Stop
Move back to increase the depth of field
Move closer to decrease it
7. FAST SHUTTER SPEED
Definition: Fast Shutter Speed is used
to produce the effect that movement
has been frozen.
Settings:
Shutter speed is measured in seconds
For example, 1/8000th a second is a very fast shutter
speed
Subject must be moving
Camera must be still
9. Slow Shutter Speed
Definition: Slow Shutter Speed is used
to let more light into the camera in
dark situations and to have some blur
in the photo.
Settings:
Anything that moves will blur
1/15 of a second is good
11. FILM GRAIN
Definiton: Film Grain is is the random optical
texture of processed photographic film due to the
presence of small particles of a metallic silver, or
dye clouds, developed from silver halide that have
received enough photons.
Settings:
Dark
Random White Spots
13. DIGITAL NOISE
Definition:Digital Noise is used to
describe the occurrence of color dots
or specks where there should be none
Settings:
Film Grain
Anisotropic Noise
Amplifier Noise
