3. Title sequence Mar 19, 2008 Mission Impossible Mar 19, 2008 Mission Impossible From the title sequence we get too get to see who are presenting the film, who produced it and also who the film is by. This is from the opening titles alone. Also from the title sequence we got an idea of who may be the stars of the film and also that there will be a lot of use of technology and gadgets used in the film.
4. Analysis of 9 frames. These are the 9 frames from the art of the title website for Mission Impossible. In the next 9 slides I will analyse each frame for mise-en-scene, which aspects include: editing, camera angles, shots and movement, costume and make-up, lighting and figure expression and movement.
5. In this frame we see the use of a match being lit up. The use of the flames around the top of the match help promote the idea that something big may be about to happen such as an explosion. Close up of the match. Lighting of the flame to help it stand out from black background.
6. In this frame we see an extreme close up of the mans upper face. The emphasise is mainly on the eye as the mans glasses help the eye to stand out. The seriousness of the face suggests that the man is perhaps doing something very serious.. You can see around the area around the eye that it is lighter than the rest of the face- perhaps suggesting his eye is of significance.
7. In this frame we see a close up of what I believe to be the match being fully lit up. You can see white sparks which seem to be a result of the match and makes the lighting stand out more. Prop being used is a match.
8. From this frame we see the use of a title in the title sequence. Editing techniques have been used to make the word at the back bigger and helps it stand out. The font colour is like that so it stands out better from the black background.
9. In this frame we get a close up of the mans face and his figure expression shows his quite serious. Perhaps something bad is happening. The light on the mans face is lighter than his background- shows his stands out. His an important figure!
10. Suggests something is going on and everything is being caught on camera – later consequences. In this frame we see a close up of what looks like a cctv camera pointing to a certain area. Behind the bars there is red lighting. Helps it stand out. Perhaps some action taking place up there.
11. Close up of what appears to be a computer screen with pictures of a man and details about him. Blue lighting
12. Extreme close up of mans mouth – suggests he is very angry shouting at someone. The use of black and white colour helps it stand out because it isn’t generally the colour you see and it just stands out from all the other coloured images in the title sequence.
13. Just really an establishing shot of the title of the film to establish what its called, Editing techniques to make the title look a bit wonky, Good because this way it is less boring and grabbers the viewers attention better. Use of different colours for both works help them stand out from each other-bears more meaning to the title.
