Campbell North is currently searching for an Engineering Director to join an incredibly
interesting big data start-up that has just secured around £2 million in funding and is set to
double in size over the next 6-12 months. This company is working with some of the largest
data sets in the London market and they are applying all the latest technologies and
methods to enhance these data sets.
As an Engineering Director you will be part of a world-class team of engineers and
researchers working on the latest advances in distributed computing, graph theory and
natural language processing. You will have the opportunity to work in a challenging
environment, you will have access to the latest tools and resources and will be encouraged
to use creativity and imagination to extract even more value from the vast amount of data
they generate every day.
Within this role you will be a master in writing scalable algorithms to analyse and extract
meaningful properties from data. It is more than likely you have come from a programming
background, which will enable you to go through their log files to test hypothesis and extract
insights. You will need a good overview of data modelling or graphing tools to model the
results of your experiments.
As an Engineering Director you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of Data
Scientists as well as hiring and growing your own team.
Skills & Experience:
5+ years in similar / relevant industry OR 3+ years if you have a PHD.
Be able to make sense of internet scale data.
Core understanding of Computer Science & you still use these fundamentals today
Understanding of Graph theory.
Experience with storing or processing large datasets is a plus.
