The retail sector is facing major challenges. Changing consumer behavior and the fusion of online and offline are giving a new meaning to the concept of ‘shopping’. The impact of this transition can be observed in many shopping streets and districts with a growing number of vacancies and the diminishing quality of public space. CLICKNL and the platform DNWS (The New Shopping Street) have taken the initiative for a Knowledge & Innovation Agenda for Smart Retail. In this session the results of will be presented of the preliminary desk research, followed by a presentation by Jacqueline Arnoldy of the Center of Expertise of the TMO Fashion Business School. After the presentation a panel with Jacqueline Arnoldy, Machteld Kors (UNStudio) and Jann de Waal (info.nl) will discuss the urgencies and opportunities concerning smart retail.
