In 2004 George Siemens and Stephen Downes developed the theory of
connectivism
After 4 years (2008) the first MOOC was presented by David Cornier at the
University of Manitaba
In 2010 David Cornier started posting videos of MOOC to YouTube

In 2011 MOOC was used as a tool to assist first year student in college
And then in 2012 Harvard University registered 370 00 students to MOOC
and then other institution saw it’s importance hence it became even more
popular
By 2013 MOOC became a world wide essential tool for assisting student
succeed
8. COST OF USING MOOC
The cost of using MOOC is absolutely FREE, there are no charges for accessing
it. Though one might be obliged to pay for the internet access, for assistance
(IT personnel) or probably pay a small fee at an institution where proper
guidance will be provided.
