3. WWhhaatt iiss BBrriiddggiinngg ttoo EEmmppllooyymmeenntt??
For internationally educated professionals (IEP) who have
education and experience in Environment or Information and
Communications Technology (ICT) sectors outside Canada.
Bridge skill gaps and requirements necessary to access
employment in their field.
YWCA Hamilton works with multiple stakeholders to place
IEP as volunteers/interns/PT/FT
4. Eligibility
Minimum 3 years post-secondary education in
Environmental or Information and Communications
Technology fields obtained overseas (with availability
of diploma / degree /certificates)
No education and experience in Environment or ICT
sectors in Canada.
Minimum 2 years experience overseas
CLB7 or equivalent
Legally entitled to work in Canada
5. Environmental Program Structure
The Environmental Program includes the following modules:
Mohawk College Credit Courses – 5 credit courses;
address technical / Canadian aspects of environmental
education
CAPE Renewable Energy Modules – 5 online seminars;
address green power as a source of electricity; each online
seminar is approx. 1 hour in length
6. Environmental Program Structure
The Environmental Program includes the following modules:
CAPE Job Search Modules – 4 online seminars; address
LMI and job search techniques
ECO Canada Webinars– sector-specific issues
YWCA Support – address job search issues individually
8. ICT Program Structure
ICT Program includes the following modules:
Mohawk College Credit Courses – 6 credit courses; address
technical / Canadian aspects of ICT education
ICTC Modules – 3 online seminars; address green power as
a source of electricity; each online seminar is approx.1 hour
in length
YWCA Modules – address job search issues; in-class; 2.5
hour sessions
