A study in the United States revives the theory of six degrees, under which only
six people separate each of us of any individual in the world, although the
number seven degrees is more correct. Researchers at Microsoft have studied
the addresses of people who have sent 30 billion instant messages using MSN,
for 30 days. According to theory, two people from anywhere are connected, on
average, with up to seven people known. The theory of six degrees was created
in 1960 by the American psychologist, Stanley Milgram, after a series of
experiments known as Small World, or small world, where a person should
spend a letter to someone known. The aim was that the letter came to a person
unknown to the first, who lived in another city. At the end of the study, Milgram
found that the average was six times that the letter was repassada, hence the
name of the theory. Meanwhile, in 2006, psychologist Judith Kleinfeld,
University of Alaska Fairbanks, reviewed the notes of Milgram's original
research and found that 95% of the letters had not reached its final recipient.
She then concluded that the theory of six degrees not passed a myth. However,
the study validates Microsoft's for the first time on a global scale, the old theory
of six degrees. Although questioned, the theory vai far beyond the folklore and
reveals what many already suspected: we are really close one of the other,
regardless of where we are. In the study of Microsoft, two people are
considered less known is sent to an instant message one to the other. The
researchers concluded that the average was 6.6 connection links and that 78%
of pairs of those interviewed could exchange messages with up to seven people
like. Certainly, this percentage could rise further if we take into account the
relationship between players kept in virtual communities of games. After all,
there are online games involving million of players simultaneously from

attention of more than 11 million. Besides the exchange of text messages, such
interaction also requires disclosure of audio so that users can play effectively.
Therefore, in view of the theory of six degrees, the players of games would be
more close to each other in terms of the strength of interaction are exercised
when playing. Besides tanned, of course, we should look to the fact there is a
great possibility of exchange of information that can make a difference in the
lives of young people when they play even despretenciosamente. In addition to
making friends, or have a chance to close professional partnerships, they are,
above all, learning to live with each other and knowing the limits of life through
the very act of playing.

Pod 31 – Mito da teoria dos seis graus
_____________________________________________________
do lugar onde possamos estar.

O RPG
