PRESS RELEASE
New Linux Based Dental Practice Management Software
Lawrenceburg TN- Unident Software Company introduces the Linux compatible dental practice management
system, Axex Dental. This dynamic, yet simple software/hardware combination uses the latest technology in
web development to ensure compatibility with Apple's OS X, most versions of Windows OS, and all the latest
Linux distros.
Axex Dental begins with a powerful Linux server that provides
office-wide web browser access to the software. Installation is
as simple as connecting two cables from UniDent's SmartJobsQ
server to a power source and the office network. Next, enter
the address "https://axexdental.local" onto the browser of any
Linux computer in the network for instant access to patient ap-
pointments, charts, accounts, and everything else needed for
DPMS.
Axex Dental’s user interface has been elegantly created using the latest standards of the open source com-
munity. Our SmartJobsQ server uses our own stripped down version of Debian Linux to serve a web site to
the local network using Light HTTP; furthermore, our site is built on open internet standards. Office data is
kept on a MySQL database where it is accessed through PHP and displayed in an attractive user interface cre-
ated with HTML5 and JavaScript.
In the past, one of the challenges of using Linux computers in a dental prac-
tice has been the lack of Linux compatible hardware and services for dental
practices. UniDent has overcome this challenge by creating software that
runs on a Linux platform or Windows platform. Axex Dental users can con-
tinue to use their existing Windows-only digital x-ray sensor or en-
crypted attachment service, without missing out on the reliable
Linux experience for the rest of office operations.
2. " I was first introduced to Ubuntu Linux about twelve years ago and became enamored with
Linux's reliability, simplicity, and price. Later, when I found an open dental practice management
software, I was excited at the prospect of using it with Linux computers throughout my dental office.
Alas, it was not meant to be. I later learned that the reliable software I had bought only ran on the highly un-
reliable Windows platform. When development for Axex Dental began, I wanted to make sure the user had a
choice when selecting an operating system for their office. Today, I am proud to say Axex Dental allows those
wanting a more secure, robust, hassle-free platform for our software to choose Linux. Axex Dental is the clear
DPMS choice for Linux user. " says Gabriel Ruiz, UniDent's CEO and Founder.
UniDent is offering an Early Adopter Program that allows Linux users to try Axex Dental in their dental prac-
tice at no cost for six months. Interested persons can find out more at AxexDental.com or by contacting The
UniDent Software Company.
Sincerely yours,
Gabriel Ruiz Jr.
