So how can we put it to use?
1. Set a meeting with your group in a casual & fun setting
Show this scale and have an open discussion
• At which level are we within our team
• At which level are we within our larger group
• At which level are we within the organization
• At which level are we within cross-unit workgroups
• At which level are we in relation to family, peers on the internet, business partners
and customers
• At which level is our organization
So how can we put it to use?

We may be surprised to find out that we can be at
different levels at the same time in relation to different
people and in different circumstances

So how can we put it to use?
1. Figure out what are the main reasons for a high level on some engagements
and to a lower level at others? What are the facilitators or the barriers that
you experience?
2. Now, think together and find how we can move up the ladder
• Focus on moving up 1 or 2 steps only (don’t ever try to jump on a ladder…)
• Discuss why are reach higher levels in some cases and lower levels in other cases –
what are the causes – work processes? Culture? Other causes?
• Set 2-3 action items to mitigate the hurdles that you found and to achieve the goal of
moving up one step (or two steps for the daring)
• Set time limits to achieve this
3. Set timely get-togethers and benchmarks to keep on top of progress
4. After this was successful and the new level has become a habit for the
team, repeat it to move one level higher again

Set a meeting with your group in a casual & fun setting Show this scale and have an open discussion • At which level are we within our team • At which level are we within our larger group • At which level are we within the organization • At which level are we within cross-unit workgroups • At which level are we in relation to family, peers on the internet, business partners and customers • At which level is our organization

  • 15. So how can we put it to use? 1. Figure out what are the main reasons for a high level on some engagements and to a lower level at others? What are the facilitators or the barriers that you experience? 2. Now, think together and find how we can move up the ladder • Focus on moving up 1 or 2 steps only (don’t ever try to jump on a ladder…) • Discuss why are reach higher levels in some cases and lower levels in other cases – what are the causes – work processes? Culture? Other causes? • Set 2-3 action items to mitigate the hurdles that you found and to achieve the goal of moving up one step (or two steps for the daring) • Set time limits to achieve this 3. Set timely get-togethers and benchmarks to keep on top of progress 4. After this was successful and the new level has become a habit for the team, repeat it to move one level higher again
