2. In what ways does your media product use,
develop or challenge forms and conventions of
real media products?
• I did my research and compared it to several RnB magazines. I
came up with the conclusion that RnB magazines mostly have
grey background so I followed the convention and done the
same by adding grey.
• I was influenced by Vibe magazine the main image, I followed
the convention by not making my model smile and his body
language is also similar. However, I combined it with my own
idea and showed abit of his legs.
• I challenged the convention by putting a bar code on my
magazine and also doing a mid shot.
3. How does your media product represent particular
social groups?
• I aimed my magazine to 13-18 year old girls however it is also
aimed at boys to because in the magazine it include various
artist.
• My model was chosen because he is a teenage boy. He
represent young male getting into the music industry.
• On the side of the page, I added more artist to attract different
types of audience.
4. What kind of media institution might distribute your
media product and why?
• IPC media distribute magazines which are any type of genre. They
cover specialist markets. I think That my magazine would suit a
independent publisher.
• My magazine is inspired by RnB music and I plan to follow through to
the publishing.
• IPC would publish my magazine because they do different types of
genres mostly R&B and because of my wide range of audience they
would most likely publish it.
5. Who would be the audience for your media
product?
• The Audience for my magazine is 13 - 18 year
old males and females.
• The front cover would attract females because
Kris is the main image and he representing a
bad boy image.
• The front cover would most likely attract females
whereas, the contents inside would attract
males.
6. How did you attract/address your audience?
• The Picture on my front page is of a YouTube sensation Kris Fryc, I
included various RnB artist because this would draw the different

programmes but now that I’ve used them I have gained a lot more knowledge in
these programmes.
I used blog spot to I used slide share to I used google search

9. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you
feel you have learnt in the progression from it to
the full product?
• Looking back at my prelim i have improved my
skills, challenge my creativity and developed
confidence on using Photoshop.
• My prelim is very amateur and unprofessional.
It lacks editing skills whereas my music
magazine looks a lot more like a real
magazine.
• Because of all the research I’ve done for my
main task and copying most of the
conventions it looks like a real magazine
whereas my prelim looks a bit amateur
because I didn’t follow the conventions as
much as possible.
