2. 'It's Good to Talk'
From conducting this task, I feel that I have
increased my knowledge on filming
interviews for a documentary. Our interview
followed many of the codes and conventions
well but in some parts it could have been
improved. However, the few mistakes that
were made during this task has helped me
understand what to do when it comes to the
main task.
3. Good points
The interviewee being framed to the right of the screen
while the interviewer was sitting to the left of the camera,
this resulted in the interviewee looking at the interviewer
and not directly at the camera and all questions were cut
out so only the interviewee can be heard.
4. Good points
The framing of interviewee 2 followed the rule of thirds and
was positioned correctly in the frame.
5. Good points
The mise-en-scene of the background of the interviews was
kept relevant to the topic of the interviews throughout.
7. Good points
The font that was used was clear and suitable for the
topic/situation and did not distract from the interviewee as it
was correctly positioned on the opposite side to the
interviewee.
8. Points for improvement
The moving background was a little distracting from the
main interview and at times covered the interviewee’s facethis could have been improved using green screen.
9. Points for improvement
The framing of interviewee 1 could have been better as
there was excess space around her.
10. Points for improvement
The colouring of the titles explaining the interviewees name
and occupation could have been clearer and more stand
out.
11. Points for improvement
The interviews were too long as they could lose interest of
audiences easily, as they should have been shorter to keep
audience’s attention. The sound appeared to be too loud in
some parts, so interviewees were not easily heard.
