2. “Nine privacy groups have sent a joint letter to the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) saying it should investigate the way Facebook collects data about users' online activity after recent changes to its site.”- This is one of the stories currently on the Yahoo technology news site. It interested me because I regularly use facebook and privacy is an issue that concerns me.
3. The groups were concerned about the most recent chance facebook made last week which is supposed to be much more interactive, but is also much less private. They released it to persuade people to stay with facebook, rather than move to the new Google+ The update is a box on the side which shows what your friends like and comment on even if what they interact with is on a private profile. The worst part is that this can not be turned off.
4. Even though most people are annoyed about the new facebook update and feel they have little privacy, they will stick with it as it is such an easy way to keep in contact with people for free. But personally, I think a lot of people will only put minimal amount of information on facebook to save privacy but this takes a lot fun out of facebook
5. As much as people want facebook to change back it is unlikely they will, they are such a big company and make so much money that their users are becoming less and less important to them. Every update so far has upset facebook users, so the only way they could make people stay is reverting back to a previous version which would now look outdated.
