 Tasked with setting up three new business verticals from scratch and to
introduce AE&E’s product portfolio in India
 Built teams over 18 months to introduce the products
 Significant value engineering efforts to tailor European designs for the Indian
market
 After 12 months of intense customer negotiations booked the largest ever

boiler order in the history of the AE&E Group – for > 110 Million Euros – a joint
initiative of the German and Indian entities, spearheaded by me
 This order increased the Indian operations’ sales turnover by a factor of 10x
and the order intake budget for the division by a factor of 15x. Was also a
significant order for Germany – for the basic process design
 Worldwide bankruptcy of the AE&E Group in Nov 2010, led to liquidation of all
its subsidiaries and the sale of the Indian entities to third parties.

Vice President – Corporate & Strategic Planning ( Since Jan ’06)
 Was Head of corporate planning and strategy for the Group which had a
turnover in excess of USD 3 billion with 28 SBUs
 Spear headed business planning and reviews, long term strategy, approval of
all capital expenditure and new investment proposals. This included goal
setting via the Balanced Score Card, evaluation of performance against the BSC
and incentive payout determination.
 Acted as an ‘internal consultant’ bringing in external and global perspectives
for the diversified businesses of the Group and kept the Board updated on
latest trends and developments.
 Reported to the Vice Chairman of the Group and supported other members of
the Group Corporate Board.
 An earlier role in the Group, encompassed identification of target business
areas for diversification; identification of acquisition targets or JV partners,
techno-commercial evaluation, the actual M&A process (including mandating
investment banks and writing the search brief/s) and ultimately integration and
execution. This was at Tube Investments of India Ltd. This role reported to the
Managing Director of the Company.
