• Semi Finalists:
– 400$ Phone + $2000 (if women) / $1000 (if
students)
• Winners: (2 Winners Per Region = Total 12)
– $20,000 (plus university wins $18,000)
• Mentor:
– Paid trip to a developer conference or $5000

5. Things Can Be Done
• Effective Use of Google App Engine (Compulsory)
– All submissions must have an appspot.com domain
• Originality of Concept
• Relevance to Region (SSA, LATAM, India, SEA, MENA)
• Polish and Appeal
• Accessibility
• Usability on multiple screen sizes
• Indispensability: Is the application compelling and/or essential?
• Amount of user interactions on their app (comments, +1s, FB Likes etc)
• Google+ Sign-In / Integration (Not compulsory:Bonus Points)
• Creative use of Youtube and Google Maps APIs (Not compulsory:Bonus
Points)
• Use of other Google platforms/APIs (Not compulsory:Bonus Points)

6. Regions
The competition will be divided into the
following regions:
• India
• Latin America
• Middle East and North Africa
• South East Asia
• Sub Saharan Africa
• Europe, North America and rest of world

7. Submission
• When the time for submission reaches, a submission
form will be made available on the competition
website where you can enter your submission details.
The main details needed to make a submission are:
• a publicly available url to your app (All submissions
must have an appspot.com domain. The URL to the app
must be in the format: http://gcdc2013-<app-
name>.appspot.com)
• your contact details
• brief information about your app and how to use it

8. Important Dates
• September 4th 2013: Competition Begins.
Launch events take off across regions
• October 22nd 2013: App submissions open
• November 21st 2013: First round submissions are
due at 11:59 PM GMT.
• December 5th 2013: Semifinalist applications
announced.
• January 5th 2014: Semifinalist applications are
due at 11:59 PM GMT.
• January 28th 2014: Winners are announced.
