Transaction Types
• Purchase Order (New, Change, Cancel) Outbound
Procurement application sends OrderRequest documents to Ariba Network requesting
products or services.
Ariba Network routes them to the appropriate supplier using the supplier’s preferred method.
Ariba Network reflects PO routing status from "accepted and forwarded to supplier" to "sent"
"acknowledged" or "failed―, and communicates that to the procurement application using
StatusUpdateRequest.
• Order Confirmations Inbound
Sellers communicate the status of PO through ConfirmationRequest document
They indicate ordered items they accept, reject, or have back ordered. They can also specify
values for shipping, tax, and total.
• Advanced Ship Notices Inbound
Sellers indicate when the ordered items have shipped through ShipNoticeRequest document.
They can indicate the shipment date, carrier name, tracking number, and other detailed
shipping information.

Transaction Types
• Invoices Inbound
Sellers request payment for delivered products and services through
InvoiceDetailRequest document. Sellers can also attach files to invoices and Ariba
Network can route them to procurement application along with invoices or leave
them online.
• Invoice Status Updates Outbound
After the procurement application receives an invoice, it can send
StatusUpdateRequest that contain InvoiceStatus elements to update the Sellers as
the invoices are being approved and paid.
• Receipts Outbound
The procurement application can indicate that receiving clerks or requisitioners
have received ordered products or services by sending ReceiptRequest to the
Ariba Network, and Ariba Network will route them to Ariba Invoice and
Payment Professional.

Transaction Types
• Remittance Advice Outbound
The procurement application can send remittance advice PaymentRemittanceRequest
document to inform the Sellers about payment dates and payment methods.
Ariba Network transmits a generic response containing a status code in the same HTTP
connection as the PaymentRemittanceRequest document.
• CC Invoice Outbound
Normally invoices originating from procurement systems are not tracked on
the Ariba Network.
The CC Invoice feature allows Ariba Network to store a copy of the invoices originating
from these procurement systems.
Sellers (after subscribing to receiving CC invoices on Ariba Network) can log into their
Ariba Network account and view the status of their invoices and monitor its progress
through the reconciliation process.

the Oracle Financials system and Ariba Network.

• Generic Adapter
Intended for customers that have other middleware
Conforms to the J2EE Connector Architecture
(JCA) specifications and implements a set of
standard JCA interfaces for deployment in any
J2EE based application server.
It also provides a minimal set of interfaces, which
when implemented will allow customers to integrate
the adapter with their application server.

Ariba partners with Hubspan to provide
cloud integration solutions, delivered as a
managed service
Since Ariba Network requires cXML format, if the
customer is unable create cXML format and unable to

formats to and from the Ariba Network.

Ariba Network reflects PO routing status from "accepted and forwarded to supplier" to "sent" "acknowledged" or "failed―, and communicates that to the procurement application using StatusUpdateRequest. • Order Confirmations Inbound Sellers communicate the status of PO through ConfirmationRequest document They indicate ordered items they accept, reject, or have back ordered. They can also specify values for shipping, tax, and total. • Advanced Ship Notices Inbound Sellers indicate when the ordered items have shipped through ShipNoticeRequest document. Ariba Network transmits a generic response containing a status code in the same HTTP connection as the PaymentRemittanceRequest document. • CC Invoice Outbound Normally invoices originating from procurement systems are not tracked on the Ariba Network. The CC Invoice feature allows Ariba Network to store a copy of the invoices originating from these procurement systems.   2. We’re all familiar with the McKinsey study regarding the rise of the networked enterprise – one that connects their back office systems with customers and suppliers. According to McKinsey, Networked Enterprises are 50% more likely to increase sales, margins, and market share. Now, IF YOU REMEMBER ANYTHING FROM THIS PRESENTATION, remember this….SUPPLIERS HAVE BIG PAINS IN THE PROCESS TODAY AS WELL….as such a big value proposition exists for them as well. - The big one is compressing the time it takes for you, on the buy side, to get the pay term clock to start. Today there is lag of many days – sometimes weeks, before the pay term clock starts on the buy side and when it starts with the suppliers. Ariba makes this the SAME (thru the capabilities outlined)…..our suppliers who transact with many Ariba Network clients and of course non Ariba clients have realized a DSO benefit ‘on average’ of 6 days. When we are talking about many millions of business with you, this is a big value proposition. - Of course cost savings is a big benefit as well….receiving a paper PO, dealing with calls from you on Ocs, managing PO errors and re-issues and changes, and sending you paper SES or Invoices cost more money than doing electronically over the Ariba Network. - Clean Harbors (hazardous waste disposal for energy co.s). DSO was a pain point, typically getting paid 15 dates late and often resulting in invoice disputes after that – especially for underfunded POs requiring a change order or unplanned jobs. It took them hours per week to manage these disputes. Now they manage complex and simple jobs via the Ariba Network with dozens of energy customers, including cutting resource costs in their A/R function; and improved invoice accuracy. - The final benefit, and one that is picking up a lot of steam with our mature suppliers, is gaining access to more business and new clients. - McJunkin commented recently they are seeing a higher % of PO spend now from their Ariba clients as maverick spending has been eliminated due to PERFECT PO controls in place due to Ariba Network - Motion Industries commented to us recently they just won a new contract, with a new client, with a major focus/reason on their vast experience serving other Ariba clients on Network (and the lower costs to serve and spend benefits they receive that translates into being a better partner).
