1. AoC London Region Members’ Bulletin
28 September 2012 – Issue 121
Dear Colleagues,
AoC London’s Regional Committee held its first meeting of the season with a great discussion
to inform AoC London’s top policy priorities for the coming year. There is more work and
consultation to do, but after this we will be in a strong position to prepare a revised statement
on behalf of AoC London and all members. I will keep you all posted.
I am very much looking forward to meeting London Principals next week. The AoC London’s
Principal’s Forum meets on October 2nd 4.00 – 6.00pm at City of Westminster College. The
theme for this interactive session is around Funding Reforms and London Colleges. We have an
excellent line up of key contributors including the Skills Funding Agency, Education Agency,
National Apprenticeship Service, and London Council. Julian Gravatt from AoC will also be
joining the session.
On a different note you may know we are bringing together as many stories as possible on
London Colleges’ contribution to the success of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Thank
you to all those Colleges which have furnished us with material, but please keep it coming to
Evelina Bagusyte.
Best wishes
Caroline Neville
UPCOMING EVENTS

AoC 16-19 Study Programmes Roadshow sponsored by DfE, 8 October, Holiday Inn Regents
Park, London
The Department for Education (DfE) is sponsoring a series of regional 16-19 Study Programmes
Roadshows that will help Colleges prepare for the curriculum and funding changes coming
next September. The Government response to the 16-19 Study Programmes consultation and
the 16-19 Funding review signal big changes to the way Colleges organise the curriculum for
16-19 at all levels, across all types of programme including A levels as well as vocational
courses. The new 16-19 funding methodology will fund students for Programmes of Study
rather then by individual qualification.
To find out more about the event and to register your attendance please visit the AoC Create
website.
