Keynote address for Common Purpose workshop on Urban Sprawls in Dubai. Urban sprawls have made cities unliveable. Despite the high costs of sprawls they have grown like cancer across the world. What are the drivers that make cities sprawl? Can we regulate the sprawl? How can we ensure cities do not grow for ever? How does the speed of urban transportation drive the urban sprawl? What is the role city nervous systems have to ensure liveable cities?
