8. Some general points
• Cats display pruritus differently than dogs
• Flea allergic cats are very good at removing fleas
from their coats
• All cats in a household should be treated
• The environment should be treated
• All pruritic cats should receive flea treatment
15. Atopy
• Less well characterised than in dogs
• Do not use megoestrol acetate
• Steroids better tolerated than in dogs
• Cyclosporine seems to work well in cats
• ASIT can work well in cats
