The Legend of Prambanan Temple
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful woman, who lost her father , king Boko.
The beautiful woman was Roro Jonggrang. Her beauty was so famous around the country.
Every man wanted to marry her. One of them was Bandung Bondowoso.
Bandung Bondowoso, he was a young man with a supra natural power, who killed
Roro Jonggrang, so he wanted Roro Jonggrang to be his wife. But Roro Jonggrang refused
to marry the murderer of her father.
Roro told her Patih about her trouble. Patih advised her to ask Bandung
Bondowoso to make one thousand tamples in one night.
Roro Jonggrang asked Bandung Bondowoso if she agreed to marry him with one
condition: he had build one thousand temples during one night.
Helped by the devils, Bandung Bondowoso started to build the temple. Passing
the midnight and he used magic power so his work was nearly finished.
Roro Jonggrang woke up the girls in the village and ordered them to grind the
rice. The sound made the rooQster crow. They thought that it had been already dawn.
Bandung Bondowoso got frustrated because he failed to complete the temple.
Because of his anger, he cursed Roro Jonggrang to be a statue. This statue completed the
number of temples, that was one thousand temples, like what was requested by Roro
Jonggrang.
